I have learnt something new now just had a look.

Tell me will it still be there after 31/10 ?
They are the "Information Generation", after all. By Halloween they'll likely have latched on to another media sharing platform. TikTok basically filled the void where Vine left off. Vine was sort of passe for millennials but perfect for Gen Z. Strangely enough, Vine died soon after the EU ref and US vote. Could there be a connection...

You fucking cop out merchant;-)

I made my admission as soon as I got up this morning and saw the wine induced mistake I made last night

But I take from this that you are not man enough to act like I did and just straight-forwardly admit when wrong?

Just an opinion...…….

But - if you were not so rapid to jump in with your snide comments then you would not make such a ***** of yourself

Just give the snide a rest mate - the thread - and I suggest your blood pressure - would be better for it

Personally, as I could not give a single fuck about your views - I am cool either way;-)
Tbh mate, by your spiel on here I was given to understand you'd advised the UK government when they signed the maastricht treaty. Am I now to understand you didn't?

I know we have been distracted by VAR but I was puzzled nobody had actually posted or commented that the order commencing our official withdrawal on 31/10 has now been signed.

Isn’t that it ?

No. It’s theater. Our membership is via Treaty. This does not effect the treaty therefore does not effect our membership.

The Govt is trying to create the impression of an unstoppable force. Like it tries to create the impression that no deal is not a problem for the U.K. but an event so terrible the EU will cave to our demands.

Did you all believe planes would fall from the sky at midnight on 31 Dec 99.....or one second into 2000?

Because that’s exactly the same as nullifying all the bilateral arrangements we have with the 27 countries of the EU and all the trading arrangements we have with another 60 countries.
Yeah, so exactly the same.

Also government and industry invested billions to update systems to ensure Y2K wasn’t a problem.

Nope.
The millennium bug was a known and understood technical problem capable of being resolved by technical means to reach a solution and was worked on for years in advance of the actual date.

After acting hard and uncompromising since he became PM I see that Der Foffel is doing a dash to Berlin and Paris this week to impress upon Merkel and Macron that we are really really really serious about leaving on 31st October and we definitely definitely mean it.
My view is that anyone who shouts this loud is not at all confident about their negotiating stance.

Post Brexit food shortages for the UK .....is there a war on ?
You clearly haven't heeded warnings of the post brexit zombie apocalypse where everyone has no jobs the pound reaches parity with the Ugandan shilling and we are not allowed to talk or trade with anyone ever. The civil war in Ireland will be as nothing compared to the lack of any medicine and us becoming a nation of cannibals due to there being no food ever. Any attempt to cross the channel or enter Europe will be impossible like it was in the 50s & 60's unless of course you are a company that wants to take its business out of the UK.
If I were you I'd start stocking up on pot noodles and bottled water before its too late.

Must be fun posting when you're not going to be impacted.

More likely we’ll get over the initial disruption within a few months, most people will be a bit poorer, will have to work a bit longer (if they have jobs) and pay a bit more tax to pay for the increase in unemployment. But everyone will be happy because we’ll have thrown off the yoke of EU oppression and will have taken back control.

Not sure of the thrust here

My role - managing major programmes for and providing advice and guidance to government departments started in 1999 - does that help?

The answer for quite a few on here I suspect - is that the only reasons those things did not occur was because we were still in the EU - but if we were to leave...…..
