Times running an exclusive...

‘Boris Johnson's £100m no-deal public information campaign risks shortages of food, medicine and fuel *before* Britain has left EU, officials have warned. Times told officials said advertising blitz could encourage people to stockpile key goods.

In paper submitted to ministers earlier this month, officials warned advertising blitz could cause 'extreme spikes' in purchases of key goods before Oct 31. They also warned banks could take a 'more cautious’ approach to lending & increase interest rates as Brexit day approaches’
So, basically it's best to take out a bank loan in the next couple of weeks if you need to do so, and perhaps pop a couple of sliced loaves in the freezer? Save yourselves while you can - yawn.

Just make sure it's a fixed rate loan and you could end up in profit after the hyper inflation kicks in.

Chuck weighs in on the Brexit debate...

Does he realise the republicans won the last election and trump is the president? I realise the balance of power in the house is different now, but this is broadly the equivalent of corbyn tweeting as if he's in charge of UK trade. Just the usual people who like to oppose trump opposing trump. I doubt they know where the Irish border is.

Congress has the most impact on trade deals and is controlled by the Democrats. Republican Congress have also come out against a hard border. Republicans control the Senate and they've said much the same. Including McConnell, in pretty much his only show of publicly opposing Trump. Unsurprisingly, Senate Democrats are also against a US UK trade deal if anything is done to threaten the GFA. The only person to say different is Trump and while he can impose tariffs for national security reasons, he can't approve trade deals, that's outside his remit completely.

All trade deals have to get signed off by Chuck and Nancy otherwise they ain’t happening. US Govt also has to advise the parameters and goals of trade negotiations to allow both the House and Senate to review and approve them. Also State legislatures get to weigh in if anything pertains to their State.
