Ok no deal it is then.

Expect it isn’t as Parliament is unlikely to allow it and Johnson isn’t *that* stupid. Unless of course he goes down the no-deal route, gets it through and turns around to the public and says that whilst the job losses, visa issues, food shortages etc are unfortunate, it’s really nothing to do with me as I was merely carrying out the ‘will of the people’. It’s a similar approach to what Jeremy ‘with a heavy heart’ Hunt took as well as Andrea ‘people voted knowing they would lose their jobs’ Leadsom took - so it might work for him. In fact, it probably will

I am puzzled that Tusk sees no prospect of a backstop solution at all while insisting it is just insurance in the unlikely event one can't be found.
Same reason we won't sign up to while insisting a solution is very easy, neither side have a solution other than CU and SM.

Almost as if he's trying to create a reason to never leave? I doubt anyone would be so self serving and shallow as to risk the peace in Ireland for their own political ends, surely not?

No.10 has just said that we will never erect a hard border or implement checks but unless the WA is renegotiated then we will leave with no deal.

Over to the EU because Dublin now has to decide if they will erect a hard border to satisfy Brussels?

That's because the EU don't want to lose the UK. The EU absolutely would uphold the backstop indefinitely and tie the UK into the EU.

The backstop only exists because May wanted an end to FoM and this was her idea to get around it.

They don’t want to lose the GFA fundamentally and have said as soon as their is an alternative solution, the backstop will go.

The other alternative is not having free access to the European markets and not having a trade deal with the US now either.

This will absolutely bankrupt the country and affect both of our lives for the worse.

When we told you Brexit was a shit idea, we meant it.

Im not sticking it anywhere im telling you that you are a rude **** who i have no wish to debate with on here.

Take the hint fella.

He didn't insinuate you were anti-Semitic
Yeah but you are describing people Vic not rats and it isn't the first time.
Only Tories. Lower than vermin. Copyright Nye Bevan but I'm sure you know that.

The backstop they wont negotiate will go on day one as they implement checks at point's way from the border and people continue to move and travel across without checks.

Their political football has finally been kicked off the pitch and we have told them to go fetch it!

Or we accept FoM (something May herself wouldn't) between the UK and EU by retaining a new FTA that means we accept the Four Freedoms, as have Canada and Japan, without being full members. We've already accepted most of the EU's terms by beoing a member for the last 40+ years, it's not like we're trying to sort things out beginning from the position as an outsider like Japan or Canada, are we.

You can cease with the emotive language.

What are the WTO’s rules on borders from two different markets? I’m pretty sure they will insist the UK does something, given we are the ones leaving and applying to the WTO??

Nice analogy!
