6 wickets in the next 3 or 4 overs would be nice.

No, the murky conditions on day 1 helped the bowlers, the collapse on day 2 is down to shit batting.Whereas the pitch at headingly is set up for sub 200 scores. Surely not. I have to admit I really don’t get it.
To be sure, to be sure. They not playing Ireland today mate...……………………………..:)

Why can't these twats practice forward and backward defence and leave wide deliveries .Its basic schoolboy stuff
Just had a quick google (Oo-err!) about lowest scores in a first innings in a winning test match (I know, humour me!). If we do somehow manage to pull it off, we'll be only third on that list.
1. England scored 45 and beat the Aussies by 13 runs in Sydney in 1886/7. And no; I wasn't there.
2. Australia scored 63 runs and beat England by 7 runs at the Oval in 1882. And yes; I was there
Cant think why Stokes would even attempt to go for that shot with his bat so far from his body.Boycott is absolutely right although the likes of him Tavare and Atherton were always pilloried for their slow run rates .There is always a loose ball coming sooner or later and patience is a virtue few seem to possess nowadaysBoycott had it right on 5live extra. He was saying when he was batting his first thought was always don’t get yourself out and wait for the bad balls even if it meant waiting a while.
He said kids are being coached to play 20/20 now and learn the reverse sweep before learning how to leave a ball. I watched the Stokes dismissal earlier and was scratching my head at the shot he played. In test matches that ball was a leave all day every day.
It's not just the pitch, the main difference is the lack of fielding restriction and the different ball. Playing risky shots is a lot less risky if the ball does nothing and they can't put fielders in the areas you want to hit it.But is it any more testing than a one day pitch when they regularly score 300+?

Was that the one against South Africa with Donald and Pollack in their prime?I remember watching that match saving knock from Atherton when he batted all day. It was test match batting at its finest.
