Not really. She's spent her entire career trying to help white working class people through her constituency work and her broader stuff in the former Government. If she's a racist then helping a ton of white people with their problems and trying to put more money in the pockets of the overwhelmingly white working classes seems to me to be a bit of an own goal.

I'd argue that no currently serving MP can qualify as a racist, yeah.

But specifically on the Abbott thing, it's more that much of her work in Parliament has been done to primarily affect the working classes which are overwhelmingly white. If I hated black people then I probably wouldn't spend a lot of my time in Parliament helping people in majority black areas. Seems a contradiction.

We cannot say for definate who is racist, It would be a miracle if no MP was though. So Diane would need to be a MP for a all black constituent otherwise she can’t be racist? I think she is a paranoid racist through life experiences. Racism itself is a complicated issue and you know if this was flipped and a white MP had said those things certain posters on here wouldn’t be defending them. Just more hypocrisy really.

Of course but for the basis of consistency it would be poor to accuse her of being a racist while letting people like Boris off the hook. They're either all racist or they're all not, depending on your definition.

I tend to use the dictionary definition of racism which talks about hatred for other races and a belief in the superiority of your own. I don't personally think anybody in Parliament qualifies or if they have then they're quiet about it.

This is really quite amusing, as I am sure I am attracting the more vitriolic leavers for making a simple statement that is probably fairly close to the truth when I didn't even vote remain and have significant sympathy with the Bennite leave position. I would have probably voted for leave if it was not for Farage, who I believe to be a poisonous individual and a stain on the nation.
