You can’t be serious? Too much going on? Like what...one of the greatest run chases falling agonisingly shirt if he gave it out? The umpire bottled it. The innings by Stokes was sensational and under such pressure he played a brilliant innings. Times it so well initially then opened up as he ran out of partners. But you have to distinguish between the emotion and heroics of that and that no call at then end. It was hitting middle to leg mid way up to the naked eye. I called it as plum as soon as it hit him. Not sure what the umpires was looking at to turn that appeal down.

It looked close at the time but I thought it would be umpire’s call.

I agree, but if the Aussie's had taken their chances (dropped catch and misfiled in the last couple of overs) it wouldn't have come down to that last umpiring decision.
That’s the same argument for City last week though right?

If we had taken our chances then we would not have talked about VAR and the no Rodri penalty?

The point you’re making and I agree with is the outcome of the match would have been different had Australia taken the catch or not used their last DRS. But that still does not take away from the howler of a call. Same as our result last week. Likewise our non-penalty today.

Exactly how I saw it, with naked eye could tell it had deviated after hitting front pad and I thought it would be umpires call too. Not the umpires problem they’d blown their review.

Easy to state that after you’ve seen the balltracker.

Guessing you’re an Aussie....

;-)
I am an Aussie by citizenship, but not birth. No, as I said as soon as I saw it. I didn’t bed ball tracker to tell me he was plum. I think balltracker had it hitting leg. As I said, I saw it hitting middle to leg.

After his horrendous display in the first test, Joel Wilson was much improved here. He made a mistake at a pivotal point in the match but it was by no means a howler.

Maybe I’m being biased but I thought it would be clipping leg stump.

Paine will be heavily criticised for reviewing the Cummins LBW shout to Leach but I could understand the decision given we only needed 8 runs.

Agree. But just because they should have used their reviews better does not take away from how poor the umpires no call was. With no DRS umpire got the fire one right and the second so badly wrong. DRS was brought in to eradicate the howlers. That no decision was a howler. The fact Australia had no challenges left doesn’t change the fact.
Mmmwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaa
Those tears are so bitter

Nah, the fact it hit front pad made it an appeal that should have been turned down, too much going on and it served the Aussies right for wasting their review.
It served them right for spending the whole of yesterday afternoon appealing twice an over and not reviewing a single call. The cheating cunts

What is it about top class sport? Its just a game, but it brought a tear to my eye. Wonderful.
I'd kept my eye on the score since this morning. Knowing we had one wicket left as City game ended I fully expected to see us all out as we switched to watch.
I swear this year, sport wise, has knocked 10 years off my life.
Congrats to Leach too, that was immense.

Yes. Bad decision to use DRS. However, The umpires no call for LBW was absolutely criminal. That’s as plumb as you will see and he has absolutely bottled it. Shocking decision.
I'm guessing England had no reviews left at that point and this is how technology affects the game. If England can review then he's giving that knowing if he's made a balls up, drs will save him. He didn't want to make a call at that point in case there's something he's missed, what with the Ashes at stake. Understandable really.
