The good thing about all this is it should put a stop to these weird centre left millennials and the endless memes that portray Queen Elizabeth II and the royal family as some sort of influential progressive icons.

So the Queen isn't supposed to show any preference/ objection towards political issues but she's fucked Democracy over by picking a side ?

Ruth Davidson expected to make a statement tomorrow. The first resignation?

SKY News say yes... but won't say why. By Newsnight it will be reported its Brexit. I posted in the Cons thread she is either quitting before Johnson ruins her work and loses Scotland that she won for her party or possibly moving South with designs on using her popularity to have a tilt at his job

According to a Royal Historian on the radio earlier she is fuming that 60 years of being at arms length that within weeks liar Johnson has dragged her into Politics. That is how desperate a Tory he has become - him and all his ERG mates who should be Royalists now prepared to jeopardise the Union and the Monarchy for their ideological ends.

Er, ‘those parts of’? ;-)

Has the monarch ever refused a request to prorogue parliament? Much as I disagree with what Johnson has done, it does seem that to have refused his request would have been a greater act of picking a side

Just imagine, we have to leave the EU by a certain date or we remain and a proposal comes across to suspend Parliament to make sure we remain.

What do we do? More importantly, what will MP's do?

She had no choice. Refusing is not how it’s done. If we want a Head of State to defend our constitution then you have to ditch Her Maj. and elect one. Not a fan of the Royal Fam but no desire to start electing one.

And right on cue Corbyn’s tweeted

‘I think what the US president is saying, is that Boris Johnson is exactly what he has been looking for, a compliant Prime Minister who will hand Britain's public services and protections over to US corporations in a free trade deal’
.

That would depend if 'remaining' meant an immediate potential loss of jobs, the farming and manufacturing industry going bust more or less overnight, food prices going up, the currency going down and medicine potentially being delayed

If you can propose a Leave outcome which makes us all better off then I'm in. Sign me up, but until then why are we doing it?

Joking about thousands of people who are about to lose their jobs and some who already have just makes you a see you next Tuesday mate.

I’m for leaving the EU if we can do so with a deal, that will ensure thousands of livelihoods aren’t ruined.

Your twisting my post to suit yours. I can absolutely make jokes the predications made, particularly the ones made before the referendum. I can also make jokes about remainers - it’s all they have done for the last two years. Mock people, call them stupid, thick, racist ......

I think it’s past the point of getting a deal. There will not be a deal with the backstop - something the eu just won’t budge on. For me that doesn’t make any sense as with no deal there could be a border. We don’t want that, but the eu don’t want compromise

Boris Johnson is absolutely within his right to do what he’s done. People/ remainers may disagree, but it’s part of his power - similar to what other mps have done in parliament

The EU have compromised. This form if the Backstop was a UK suggestion. But if you think the EU won't compromise where do you think the UK will get concessions from in the future with other countries and territories? We need to get used to having the larger, more influential party not budging - we are not a diminished nation and the sooner people get on-board with that the soon the fuck which Brexit will fast become will be a lot easier for people to digest

Whilst me may be within his rights, it's still a cunts trick.

It is not similar to anything other MPs have done as they need votes to get things done or they don't happen, that is clearly not the same here
