We elect a party and the party is the one that elects its leader.
I’m surprised you didn’t know that.
Which is precisely the reason why the power lies with the house of commons and not a prime minister, and why he should be prevented from shutting off the house of commons fromcontrolling the agenda if it wishes.

That's Jovetic's dad you know ;)

Oh, you mean the one that didn't actually win the last election and had to get into bed with anti-abortionist climate change deniers just to "take back control" they lost by calling the stupid fucking thing in the first place?

You know, the election where they managed to drop more points in one campaign than Spurs have this year?

It’s quite likely that some of customs controls will have to be introduced eventually. I just don’t see the Republic anticipating that possibility now.

The RoI has anticipated already given it has doubled customs capacity at Cork for example so this is probably just groundwork in case it is needed. If it isn’t then no harm done. It’s like the NI police keeping stations open that were scheduled for closure. Just in case more police presence is required.

It’s a gradual process and if no agreement or deal can be found then eventually they will be used.

Who won the election?
That is, who got the most overall votes, (which doesn't actually guarantee a win), but which party secured more
seats, and more votes, than any other?

I find your thinking a little provincial

No, I'm not dismissing the dire predictions as a possibility, but I am dismissing them as a certainty. I'm not a great fan of many aspects of capitalism, but it is efficient at finding solutions to business problems. One solution may be the worst case of business shutting/leaving, but I don't trust the opinion on this of anyone who is clearly just cherry picking doomsday scenarios to support their remain position. I could make equally unrealistic arguments that the difficulty of post brexit import/exports would cause a spectacular growth of internal UK markets and industry to neatly support my leave preference.
The easy solution here would be to move out of the UK though...

I just wonder, if Bojo is so keen to exploit legallity and "British political convention" beyond the spirit of it by proroguing parliament at this moment, then what would his legalist inspired answer be if the Scots were trying to take steps to leave the Union?
Same English response they've always had.

Seems they have support and seems they have arms and it seems they are still hell bent on murder even with an open border as it is now.

Fucking state of the twats!
They're a tiny minority group that nobody took seriously and that the PIRA and CIRA would have demolished for that march pre Brexit. You gave them a voice and status and in the process re radicalised the dangerous groups. Well done.
