I totally understand, the fact that 0.0000754% of the EU population voted for the President of the EU annoys me as well comrade.
I'm going to lurve reading the justification arguments for this, and the hypocrisy that will follow.

Ah. Remainers. The official scapegoats for Brexit voters. Still it gives immigrants a break I suppose.
Not once have I made migrants a "scapegoat" as you put it, so not sure why you mentioned it to me.

But then how else can you demonise leave voters so you can influence your opinion on others?

I love the smell of whataboutary in the morning...it smells like desperation.

Although the President of the EU was elected by the votes of the MEPs we elected to the EU Parliament. A representative democracy vote vs a private party vote to rule with no popular mandate or even no majority in Parliament given this rush to suspend the chamber. Still carry on ‘whatabouting’ I enjoy the lols.

'"EU leaders chose Ursula von der Leyen as their pick to replace Jean-Claude Juncker as the leader of the European Union’s executive branch despite the fact she was not on the ballot paper as a candidate and has no manifesto. The European Council effectively ignored the European parliament’s spitzenkandidat, or “lead candidate” system, which was supposed to inject an element of democracy into the selection of commission president – instead nominating the defence minister, who is largely unknown outside Germany.""
