Tory MP Alistair Burt getting pissed off...

‘JRM asks MPs to support the Govt in its negotiations. I did. I voted for the conclusions of the negotiations brought to Parliament in the WA. JRM, his friends and current Cabinet members did not. Why am I, having loyally supported, now being threatened and not them?’

Step 1 - just understand the basics - they are simple facts that you and others have not been able to absorb for years

Step 2- decide how to deploy / manage the negotiations - (Spoiler: your approach of cowering and going belly-up and begging to take whatever the EU choose is not the way to look after the UK's interest)

We get it - you are utterly transparent. Either through your determination to see us tied to the EU no matter the poor terms - or your pig-headed need to cling to a patently dumb stance on an internet forum because you cannot ever stop digging - you bang on ignoring what is obvious and factual - seemingly blind to how ridiculous you make yourself look

All good by me
Who takes a bigger hit in the event of No Deal?

They don’t have to satisfy the whole of the Tory Party but would be reliant on decent MPs from other parties. If the EU and Johnson can come up with something, and it doesn’t need to be earth shattering, they can put it to the house and with the time constraints it will be

This new deal or out. In those circumstances we will see how much Labour, Libs SNP etc.... really don’t want a no deal or are playing games.

The house is full of remainers it is doable

They are playing games

Kier starmar was taken to task on what it is they want, I mean he says leavers didn’t know why they voted leave

The mp alliance I think want

Revoke article 50
Block Leave with no deal
Second referendum
General election
Stiff the Tories
Punish Boris

Take your pick....

3. A WA - still massively in the EU's favour - without the unfettered backstop seems attractive to everyone

Except Ireland. Ireland is a member state. The U.K. is not. First rule of Fight Club. The EU always backs member states over non member states.

No it cannot be stopped but you asked why did the EU care and I explained why. It’s to ensure a narrative inside the EU that they did everything they could. And don’t forget no deal is our choice. The U.K. decides whether to no deal exit or not. No amount of ‘blame game’ playing changes this fact.

To exit on the 31st October whether we are ready or not will be entirely the choice of the U.K. The EU is simply making sure everyone knows it.

It’s a narrative that you and many remainers have adopted quite close to your heart so I’m pretty sure inside the EU they already feel the same.

Seriously, what deal, is it inside the red lines and does he have the votes in parliament? Without that info Johnson may as well be telling us he has a flying pig.
Seriously - I have just answered that in another post and I have explained what to with the border issue a couple of times in recent days - so no (genuine) red lines issue

No point Johnson putting that to parliament whilst barnier is writing in UK papers that he will not negotiate

It has been true foe over 3 years that we will not see movement from the EU unless and until they face the possibility of a walk away option and the political will to use it

Current events prove the truth of that

Don’t think any of them want the no deal option. A mixture of the rest, yes.

Johnson would need to make sure that no more than a handful of Tory MPs voted against any deal. If he were to force through a Brexit deal relying on Labour support then it would be seen as the ultimate betrayal by his party. He’s not going to do that

People in the UK just wanting to get on with their everyday lives looking after their families. Certainly not those playing ideology based politics.

Bit late for that. Brexit is ideology based politics. People want a quiet life looking after their families then they shouldn’t vote for a revolution.

Precisely.
People in the UK.
That’s why No Deal is a ludicrous threat. If the EU had to, they’d suck it up and provide Ireland with all the transitional support they need. A few countries may have a shallow recession but the EU and ECB would use the tools at their disposal to minimise the impact.
The UK, on the other hand.....

He could and should get away with more than a handful. Only a truly fucked system where a large majority of MPs want A deal or remain would a no deal happen.

I'm pretty sure the no deal threat is being used against parliament in reality rather than the EU.

Revolution? Haha okay let’s go with it

If people don’t want a revolution they should see one coming and try and avoid it.

You have it really bad fella this euitis. I will tell you precisely how it will go. Leavers will blame the Eu and our own remainers, the Eu will blame the British Govt. Remainers will blame U.K. politicians and leave voters.

This is the only thing that I’m sure will happen in all this nonsense.

The blame game cannot be stopped.
For once you’re absolutely right. Everything Johnson is doing now is positioning himself in the blame game for when his strategy inevitably goes tits up.

We ripped up 40 years of industrial and foreign policy overnight with no idea what to put in its place. What do you think we were doing?
