The wife has invested in many starting with the most fucking expensive she can find (miele). Finally she has settled on good old Henry Hoover albeit I have to apply running repairs on poor old Henrys hose every now and then (ooh err). Dyson lasted the least time because I had to empty the bastard for her. That was before I knew what a **** the man was.
Henry's are fine, if a little bit cumbersome.

Brexiteer James Dyson, who owns more land than the Queen, warns government not to slash farm subsidies
James Dyson- billionaire, Brexiteer and inventor- has warned the Government not to cut farming subsidies after Brexit. The Common Agricultural Policy rewards size of land-holding, so why wouldn’t he? If he bungs a few Spuds in the ground he can exempt it from inheritance tax as well.

Probably a plea issued from his French property or more likely his recently purchased flat in Singapore. Shit scared that the thing he promoted from all over the globe is now going to hit him in the pocket and devalue his investments - he see's it as unfair as he thought only the poor were going to be worse off you see.

I think it’s important that Remainers understand how their actions are being viewed by Leavers. Boris has said, and the vast majority of Leavers agree with him, that we need no deal to be on the table in order to encourage movement from the other side. So what are Remainers busy doing? Trying to tie his hands and removing that leverage from him.

So here's Boris, having scuppered May's deal, moaning about others' scuppering his new deal (about which he has no idea, other than probably still thinking cake and eat it is an option). What a wimp....

Or maybe he's just dumping money in the safest long term place there is - land. Still a sign that he expects rough times ahead, but maybe hes not actually planning to become the darth vader of farming? If he were there are probably larger, cheaper tracts of land elsewhere.
Dyson's buying land in the area that will suffer most from not being able to get EU workers to harvest crops. Maybe he knows something about DEFRA's plans for subsidies that nobody else does... (Subsidies for vacant farmland.... The uncommon agricultural policy ?)

'S'funny how some of the old bastards we cursed and trashed turn into saints. I've always had a soft spot for Harold Wilson and Harold SuperMac. But only after they had booked the removal van!

I would never see Thatcher as a Saint, she was a witch, but is infinitely more acceptable than Johnson.

That is how bad things have become.

At least BobK is a poster that I had felt was capable of some objective analysis and was worth making a detailed response to
You may have noticed that I never provide a detailed response to any of your posts for two reasons. The main one is that you post the same thing every time so it's a pointless exercise, and I won't tell you the second one because it will make you start whining again about Remainers being rude.

Me being a cynical **** I wonder if this almighty rush to get Brexit done and dusted at any cost and by any means has anything to do with the fact that this year the EU are applying the anti-tax avoidance directive.

If you are rich, you want Brexit now, it saves you a few quid. After all if that money was shared out everyone would benefit, but it would make the money sad :(

Just watching All Out Politics on Sky, interview with Lode Desmet, author of Blind Man's Brexit made into the BBC4 Documentary Behind Closed Doors shown earlier this year. Just showed a clip of Verhofstadt and his mates celebrating the WA - "we managed it, after 2 years we kicked them out on our terms and conditions - we finally turned them into a colony - our plan from the start." Boulton then observes - "so the wicked Europeans were trying to do us in all along ....a punishment deal?" Such a sense of humour these chaps - "Quite true, just a lighthearted but accurate description of what happened" was the reply.

This has been mentioned many times before,by different posters.

Coincidence theorists ;)

I’ve not seen the clip but the UK will have to get used to the idea of doing things on other people’s terms from now on - it is an unfortunate reality

Just remember that despite what's said there they don't want us to leave
- it's the death knell for the EU and they will do anything they can to stop us.

how much are you willing to bet the quotes in that post are completely made up?

and yep, this is an inevitable new reality but one that was entirely foreseeable.

You may well be right, but Bojo is determined. The whole thing is a mighty fuck up.
