This is not good news; it’s less bad news.

At least the recovery time is a lot shorter than if it were a ligament injury. Four months, is it? If that is the case, he should be back for early next year. Let’s hope so.

It was a bang on the knee, Sane fell awkwardly, KDB got sat on when just back from a knee injury, Mendy twisted making a silly tackle, so yes we are this unlucky. These kind of injuries aren’t tissue or muscle injuries so can’t be predicted.

I think its players that are used a lot more than others (bar mendy) kdb was played virtually every game as was aymeric last season.

Nothing about knee instability. Was an inane tackle. Even a prop forward with knees like trees would do his knee getting hit at that angle and speed. Same with Mendy.

We were near the pitch in 101 and you could hear the knee on knee impact. It was a crazy tackle with his wrong leg and the lad was motoring. Must have been a brain fart as no way would he normally try that. It was only a few minutes after he gave Zinc a total bollocking because of a misplaced pass and the injury was incurred covering for another misplaced pass.

I will wait for the club announcement, google diagnosis while not even knowing the extent of the injury, is a recipe for panic.

We did a treble last year without KDB. I love Laporte but we will still play well with Stones/Otamendi/Fernandinho/Walker. Eric for the League Cup too.

Hmmm i take your point but surely other players do that as well but it's ours that are doing theirs knees huge damage

Difference is we are well stocked to cover kev,if we still had vinny i wouldn't be so concerned,i really think people are expecting too much of dinho,if john can stay fit i have no probs with him and nico together but he doesn't seem to be able to stay fit

its because we often the have the ball over 80 per cent of the time in our half Karen , do a statistical analysis on how we play and why we play that way and you will come to a similar conclusion.

Ask Bluewhit who would know much better than I just how sublime Silva is at what is around him to ensure he has stayed as injury free as he has and clocked up 400 games plus for City when we have so much possession of the ball.

Outside Colin Bell our most remarkable player on the ball with split second 360 degree vision and awareness we have seen at the club.

Laporte doesn't have that vision and unfortunately for him it was a tackle he didn't need to get involved with , clumsy like Mendy pure and simple.

We will survive and move on without him as we do every year with key players missing for long periods of time.

Its the only thing that keeps the rest or at least Liverpool last season and I am sure this season within touching distance.

Both clubs are also managed by the two best managers by some margin despite poor English skills and one of them being an eccentric individual the other a decent golfer.

Laporte will be missed in the top 6 games, but less so in the games we have coming up like Norwich.

If Stones comes back and stays injury free then he'll get a run of games. With a run of games the lad is absolute class and we'll be fine.

My worry is if Stones remains absent or picks up a knock.

How was it at barca,did they have a lot of injuries like this as well?

So he may be back before Xmas and certainly before February / March?

I'd parcel him up wiv Sane and get rid in Jan.. Special offer.. Buy 2 get Mangala free.. With the 6 million we'd get I'd persuade Dunny and Petrov to drop a few pounds then straight into the first team, thus filling the positions.. haha! Don't know what all the fuss is about, it's dead easy this management lark.. Arf!!

Hopefully Eric can be back for mid December, but time for Stones and Nico to step up and ensure Laporte is not missed too much. Dippers away concerns me and Arsenal away will be a test. Time for this squad to prove yet again we are the best in the League despite the usual injuries impacting on us.

We maybe didn't have exactly the same but we always had dave and plenty of others so a slight change of style didn't matter much as we still had plenty of creativity,i'm sure will find a way and the others will try hard to cover but there is no point denying it's a huge blow in that position
