I'd parcel him up wiv Sane and get rid in Jan.. Special offer.. Buy 2 get Mangala free.. With the 6 million we'd get I'd persuade Dunny and Petrov to drop a few pounds then straight into the first team, thus filling the positions.. haha! Don't know what all the fuss is about, it's dead easy this management lark.. Arf!!
Pep's just called me, apparently Mangala has gone already so the package deal has collapsed. I told him best stick with them both...he agreed so as you were!

We maybe didn't have exactly the same but we always had dave and plenty of others so a slight change of style didn't matter much as we still had plenty of creativity,i'm sure will find a way and the others will try hard to cover but there is no point denying it's a huge blow in that position

In fairness, David Silva is a different type of player to KDB - much more around close control and tight space passes, whereas KDB is the one who finds those impossible passes out of nothing - like Sterling's first away to Palace, Kun's against Liverpool in 2017, those miracle balls against Hughes's Stoke, etc. That was a very key part of our 2017/18 success and most pundits predicted a massive drop in goal output when KDB went down. As it turned out, we had others like Bernardo and Raheem really step up so we papered over the cracks. Similarly, I think our defence will adjust. Not that Aymeric isnt important - but the team is not shaped around one individual.

We will miss him big time in the Liverpool game for sure. No getting around that.

Hmmm i take your point but surely other players do that as well but it's ours that are doing theirs knees huge damage
I think it's just unlucky. It's a handful in a short time so it feels significant but guys get injured all the time and these are by and large contact injuries. If your knee gets hit in just the right way (or if someone falls on you, like happened to KDB) I don't care how you train, your ligaments are getting damaged.

should players start wear knee pads like you get in skateboarding ?? always wonder why nobody really values their knee's like their shins ?? maybe stuff like laporte injury could have been avoided and deflected the impact, maybe somebody could come up with a idea to have a knee pad made into the socks because you see plenty of players with their sock over their knees

See you on Dragons Den, sounds like a good idea.

That's what i meant by not exactly the same,we were always going to keep scoring goals without him so long as we had dave in the middle,i'm not nearly as oppomistic about covering at the back but i hope for the best of course, back to having heart attacks during games again,oh the good old days ha

I tore my meniscus in bed whilst asleep! Bloody killed. Good news is though that I could get back to exercise 6 weeks later and was lifting weights, etc, after 3 months. Thank god it’s not his ACL

Suppose it could have been a lot worse, but if the indications are around 3 months or so we’d have been happy with that, let’s just wish the lad a speedy recovery and hopefully no setbacks and on the pitch again for us pushing towards the league title ..

there's always the sofa to crawl behind ...

don't think i explained myself properly. I think with just David as the creator, we would have struggled last year - especially as he didn't have a great season. What saved us was Bernardo stepping up to Ballon d'Or levels (even though he will never be recognized as such outside of us fans). Nobody could have expected that in Aug last year. Similarly, this season there could be a real upside surprise in defence with (say) Stones or even one of the youngsters. When you have a quality set up and a manager like Pep, players can get inspired in unforeseeable ways.

Then again, I am an eternal optimist :)

While Laporte have been rock solid since he came in January 2018, Stones performance has gone from poor in his first months, to good, to excellent and now back to somewhat fine. I just wish this is Stones season to really take a big step forward and shine. Hopefully he will in Laporte's absence.

I also hope Eric Garcia get a chance in the Premier League. I don't understand Peps hesitation. He is a product of La Masia and someone Barcelona saw would eventually replace Barca legend Pique, he was praised by Pep during last years pre-season, saying he looked like an experienced 24-25 year old, he is commanding the back four, can carry the ball forward and probably knows how to execute a few tackles. He is a super exciting player and should really get a chance. Either he can't stand the pressure just yet, or he needs to put on some serious muscle mass.

Meniscus is a lot better than the ACL we feared it could be, cartilage damage on top could be tricky though. Best of luck Eric.
Yes, it's good news - I had exactly the same op in 1996 after injuring my knee at a footy tournament. Took about 6 months to get back to normal. Thankfully, no ligament damage for Emeric. With meniscus and cartilage, the surgery will return the knee to the pre-injury condition. I can say from experience though that you have to build your confidence to put your foot through the ball and sprint/change direction etc. In my case, the knee felt like it was grinding for a long time. Before the op, floating bits of the meniscus kept floating into parts of my knee and locking it. Painful - like someone shoving a metal spike through the joint.

Hi everyone!
After successful completion of yesterday evenings surgery, I would like to say thanks for all your messages of support during the last few days. I feel trully loved and so thankful about it.
I am sad for not being able to join the national team and to not fulfill my dream of making the debut with les bleus. I would like to thank the Coach for being so supportive.
From now on we start counting down the days to go back to the pitch.

And on Twitter he said "I will come back soon and stronger".

Press going with it is understood that he will out to around XMas.

Understand my foot. Guessing, something that will creates a convenient headline to entrap ABCs.

Speaking of ABCs, a convenient lead-in to the enemy.

We should celebrate when the Guardian falls below 130,000.
