Aye. It's been a bit of a car crash, from day one. A mish mash side that they've played around with, more in hope than anything else.
Think Root isn't a good captain and going by the tosses, he's not even lucky.

Where are these players though mate? The limited overs formats are the ones which the kids want to play and their techniques are honed in accordance. Test match techniques seem to be a thing of the past.

That being said, he is obviously the big difference between the sides.

I have no idea what Root was doing yesterday when Australia were 44-4. He practically gave Smith another score by bowling Overton and Leach.

He's played safe every time we needed to go for the jugular. He has no back bone to be a captain.
Sometimes you just have to say fuck it, lets go for it. It hasn't paid off anyway, so nothing would've been lost.

Maybe not a popular opinion but we just have to acknowledge they were just better than us. Their bowlers were very consistent and openers and Khawaja aside their batsmen shat themselves far less frequently. Plus they didn't field like idiots as often.

Sometimes stopping the fours and score board going nowhere creates wickets! When smiths in dry him up have men on the boundary!

Dropping Woakes for Overton was madness.

Let’s be honest though, they’re just far superior in all aspects.

At least England have showed a bit of spirit these last 2 tests. Australia much the better side overall and deserved to win the Ashes. Excellent pace bowling attack they have and Smith is just the best out there at batting. Absolute quality series for him.
