Now prorogation ruled illegal in court - Johnson has a reverse Midas touch - everything he touches turns to shit

Its been illegal a hell of a lot of times then given its standard procedure every time there is a Queens speech.

There will never be a government in this country again where their opponents are not constantly in the law courts stopping policy decisions.

Can't blame Ireland for that. Brexit is an act of extreme national selfishness. Ireland are our good friends and closest neighbours, culturally, and yet their interests never seem to have been entered into any leading politician's calculations, when evaluating the pluses and minuses of Brexit.

Don't our friends and neighbours, the Irish, deserve a bit more respect than that? .
Nah. In the Brexit grand plan we make Ireland poorer so can get Irish labour to replace the eastern Europeans.

It needs context. Bog standard prorogation for a few days or a week with nothing else going on no one is batting an eyelid. Five weeks with the aim of shutting down a Parliament it can’t win a vote in to save its life and with a crisis point looming then not so much. Add in the fact that Johnson is saying he will ignore the law and you are asking the courts to slap you down.

That said I’m still surprised by the ruling.

It's never been used at a time of national crisis (and this is a crisis, there is no doubt) to stop parliament debating the issues that are causing the crisis. You can only be in favour of what Johnson has done if you are against the idea of parliamentary democracy, which I know doesn't include you considering how much you bang on about democracy all the time.

Says someone who hasn't read the judgement as to why it's illegal.
