This situation ends in acrimony, either way. There is no escaping it. The idea was stupid.
This vote has fucked up the country & it isn't going away. Decent chance there are now more of 'us' than there are of 'you' & therefore it probably isn't now democratic & hence why a 2nd referendum is no longer preferable to the leave side when once they wanted one. I don't recognise your right to remove my rights, under a 52% non binding referendum, but as I said, will abide by it, if a negotiated settlement is agreed.
But if we leave or stay doesn't matter, it isn't 'going away'.
It will leave half the country pissed off, then moreso when they realise it then starts again, for years & years.
Then it's likely there starts a movement to rejoin, & as so many leave voters are old, that could soon become more powerful.
It was a very bad idea.
