Prorogation - Judgment Day:10.30am Tuesday 24/9/19

Reacting to the ruling, Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow says: "I welcome the Supreme Court’s judgement that the prorogation of Parliament was unlawful.

"The judges have rejected the government’s claim that closing down Parliament for five weeks was merely standard practice to allow for a new Queen’s Speech.

"In reaching their conclusion, they have vindicated the right and duty of Parliament to meet at this crucial time to scrutinise the executive and hold ministers to account.

As the embodiment of our Parliamentary democracy, the House of Commons must convene without delay.

"To this end, I will now consult the party leaders as a matter of urgency."

Corbyn has just called for Johnsons resignation (TO CONSIDER HIS POSITION) at the Party Conference

Blackford SNP calls on Johnson to resign.

Watson Labour calls on Johnson to resign.

Im waiting for the same for Rees Mogg

Listening to hysterical triumphalism of Jezzer, the Nationalists, the Greens, the Tory rebels etc etc I think they may disagree with you

what hysterical triumphalism from Jezzer? He wasn't at the court as the party conf is on - when asked to comment he "invited the Prime Minister to consider his position" - not screaming about GE' or anything. I fear your dislike of Corbyn now has you seeing things.

It might be better for Corbyn if Johnson stays on now because of the huge damage this will do to Johnson’s reputation.

all that "dodging a GE he has been asking for" jibes were ignored by Labour because this was the long run game. Johnson and the genius Cummings in a fit of pique destroyed their majority - its now just destroy Johnson and by association his party's reputation THEN take them on at a GE. They forget people like Corbyn have been in politics for more years than either of them have been alive. He has survived leadership challenges and knows how the game is played. Johnson ( and Cummings ) have shown their amateurism in all this.
