I think you're probably being genuine in your beliefs and are just plain wrong.
Johnson called for a GE on September 3rd. Under the fixed term parliament act the GE could have been 25 working days after that. So we could have had a GE next week, well before the 14th. Parliament could have passed a motion setting the date as say next Tuesday.
Of course Johnson could have won that GE and repealed the Benn law, doing so with the full mandate of the British electorate and the mandate of parliament if he had the numbers to do so. And not doing so if he didn't win the GE or have enough supporting MPs.
But instead of allowing this perfectly normal democratic process, Labour blocked it for political expediency. Nothing wrong with that, all is fair in love and politics and the electorate will make their judgement when the time comes.
