Vinny has to go now right? Drew 0-0 to one of the worst teams in the league, they look awful, are 3 points away from the automatic relegation spot, and somehow they’ve been stuck with way more Simon Davies then they bargained for. Clearly isn’t working.

Watched the first half and fuck me they are dreadful.
Second half was much better.
The morale of this team is under 0. Nasri is getting better, but the older guys are still searching for their best form. And the young guys are playing in a team searching for something to boost the morale.
And again, they will NOT fire Kompany.
If someone gets fired it will be Davies.
How can you fire Davies without firing Kompany? No one who’s any good would accept that position. You get to “manage” the team, while not actually being the manager or getting any of the credit if it turns around.Second half was much better.

It couldnt have gone much worse since Kompany took over to be fair.
If it would have been 6 points from 27 for a complete average Belgian manager he would have been fired already. As its Vinnie, and club legend and came back to save Anderlecht and transform them they obviously wont fire him. But this whole player/manager thing was a bit of a rushed decision. he is not manager on match days, but he is on trainings.
Neville and Henry both burned themselves with their first managerial role, with much stronger squads than Anderlecht. I think Neville gave up completely after that, still can see Henry getting some better job later.

Yep, it ws stupid decision. Player-manager is history thing and he should have done one or other.

Taking Davies and him being the manager on game day is the big mistake,i'm confused about the set up,if vinny doesn't have the coaching badges i assumed he had(?) then he is not the manager,pep teaches the team during games and rights the things that are going wrong on the spot,davies is not the man to do that,how has it happened that he is there? vinny is not player manager really is he? it sounds like a managerial clusterfuck(real mess) so it's no wonder the players are confused,why has vinny gone there without his coaching badges? confusedSecond half was much better.

Consolidate? Win a cup? European qualification? Or straight out win the league?
From the outside looking in I'd say after the players he got in over the summer Europe has to be minimum.

I'm gonna guess the remit was not lose most of the games you play and put on a putrid display against the worst side in the league.
I love him, but he seems miles out of his depth, he's not even allowed to be their coach full time because he's not got the qualifications, the results aren't getting better 3 months in and the quality of play seems to be getting worse.It's not that far away from Gary Neville at Valencia territory.
I still have a little hope he turns it around but it seems less and less likely every passing game.

Honestly not sure why he took Davies unless Kompany wants a yes man and I guess any manager worth their salt wouldn't be that interested in running the team alongside someone who has never managed a game in his life.
He isn't fit enough to be on the pitch and doesn't have qualifications to manage the team, a bit of a nightmare all round and honestly they should just sack off Davies. Get in a new manager and demote Kompany to player/coach at best.

I don't think Vinny is the type to ever cause a problem intentionally, but what manager is going to come in and take over while you have the old manager lingering around the dressing room? I’m not sure what to make of all this. If Vinny got rid of Arnesen and brought in Vercauteren he could be strengthening his position. My sentimental side wouldn’t mind seeing Vinnie back “home” at the Etihad being groomed much like Vieira was. He’s a clever guy and would do well on either the business or football side of the Club if he had the right mentors, such as Pep, Marwood, Begiristain or Ferrano.
