Don’t forget humbug

Sorry, no, that doesn't wash. Parliament could have set the date in law, just as they set the requirement not to leave without a deal in law. So no.

There would be no Parliament, it gets shut for 25 days once an election has gone through and the only question they’ll get is “do you want an early election?”

Once Oct 31st has gone, everyone will be pushing for an election and it’ll happen.

Nope. They could have set the date, but chose not to. Sorry.

@BBC

Prime ministers used to be able to call an early election at the time of their choosing. But under the Fixed-term Parliaments Act (FTPA), Mr Johnson now needs the support of two-thirds of MPs - at least 434 - to trigger an early poll.

The prime minister has already tried this route twice but the Commons blocked it. Many MPs say they did not believe Mr Johnson's assurances an election would be held before the 31 October Brexit deadline.

They worry this could lead to a no-deal Brexit.

That's because the prime minister chooses the election date. Under the FTPA, MPs simply vote on whether they agree with the statement "that there shall be an early parliamentary general election".

Sorry.

Oh no I’m sweating please do carry on
OK, so let me ask you again. Why do you speak so disparagingly of people working in the city making millions (and by the way, such people are few and far between and at the top of their game, most are secretaries and admin staff and people who work in accounts and payroll and all the other normal jobs), and yet I haven't seen you anywhere proclaiming that what Aguero earns is a disgrace?

Quite possibly the most disgusting thing i have ever heard in all my life.
In the context we are talking about, which is the language being used causing death threats towards female politicians, and the death of a female politician, it's bang out of order.

Yeah he’ll get plenty of votes as there are plenty of cunts walking the streets of the U.K. at this moment in time.

I agree with you in part, but the fact is that the utter calamity that is the Labour party will be almost entirely to blame if this buffoon wins the election. Never in history has there been such a dismal choice been put to the public when infact a half decent functional Labour party would walk it and see the Tories out of office for a generation. Shameful catastrophic state of affairs when millions may vote for the Tories purely on the basis of them being the least awful. Neither will get my vote, but many like me would be voting Labour in a flash if only to try to destroy the Tories once and for all.

Shameful state of affairs.

No its what you are talking about.

You have set the narrative and god forbid anyone that dares to disagree.

If they do...rule one is to demonise them.

If that doesnt work demonise them again.

Im a right wing nazi according the some on here so for you to decide im now mocking the death threats of female MP's or the death of Jo Cox is pretty much par for the course to be honest.

For the avoidance of all doubt here i am mocking you and you alone.

They could have, but they couldn't have trusted him to follow it. Especially when he was trying to unlawfully suspend parliament to deny them time for a VONC

I know you and I have had our differences mate, but increasingly I am finding myself on your side. Some of the faux outrage is absolutely ludicrous.

I think your loyalty to the Tory Party and that political position has taken over your views against Brexit, as a main priority.

You’re perfectly entitled to do so, with an election looming and Brexit being only one aspect of the political agenda, albeit the largest comfortably, I do think it has clouded your judgement though and you’ve defended the indefensible when it comes to the current leadership.

Me thinks you were reading too much into it my Tory friend. A quip about professional millionaire gamblers losing their money and me not allowing them to sleep in my garden seems to have caused you to jump nay leap to all sorts of conclusions.

As you find these brave souls so appealing there will be plenty of room at chippy towers.

Can the same not be said for the many on here who will vote for the current Labour party.

More contentless abuse.

And I'm still waiting...
I am afraid you will often be waiting

Brexit has 'done something' to you and - IMO - you have morphed into the sort of individual full of the intolerance and bitterness that you used to rise above. Your posts used to be of interest and the content worth considering and thoughtfully responded to.

Perhaps you will break free of the pack and rediscover the ability to be objective - let's hope so.

Re my suggestion of how this all will / could pan out. The words were clear and the associated consequences obvious.

When used in response to a female MP complaining about death threats, 'humbug' is also disgusting, as is this post.
Do you realise how offensive many of us find it when you weaponise the death of an MP to prop up your rather shakey argument? I'm assuming you genuinely don't realise btw.
