The Conservative Party

They are holding it because there is a conference centre available..................which the EU helped to build chucking £3.7m into the project..................
You like this system? Fair enough, you give me twenty grand and I’ll buy you a shiny new kitchen with ten grand of it and fit a shiny new plaque declaring that I paid for it, because I’m such a nice guy. Oh, and I’l pocket the other ten.

As part of the EU regional development fund they match fund projects like this one. Labour took full advantage of this match funding arrangement, the Tories not so much.

Tories see regional development as throwing good money after bad, it smacks of socialism and is particularly distasteful as it comes with an EU hand out! blueinsa's "our money".

The number of projects never started because the Tories wouldn't access match funding is a national disgrace, but disgrace is this country's factory setting these days.

They use the other ten to pay for all the functions we outsource to the EU at a fraction of the price it would cost us to do ourselves and use what’s left to boost other poorer EU countries economies so they can afford to buy stuff we sell to them, mainly services in our case.

At least that was the vision Thatcher sold to us at the time. Worked out better than I thought it would tbh.

The fucking Tories....

In his speech to the conference earlier Matt Hancock, the health secretary, said he loved the NHS because it embodied “timeless Conservative values”. He said:

Now, as you might have heard, I love the NHS.

And I think the NHS embodies timeless Conservative values:

  • Patriotism – because we look out for each other in this country.
  • Global leadership – because in many ways it’s the finest health service in the world.
  • Public service – because so many people give so much, day in day out, to care for others.
These values are Conservative values, they are British values, and they are the values of the NHS.

They come to Manchester because the city bid and won to host the conference (For several years - i think this year may be the last one...). The political parties (Labour inc.) dont pay (Or very little) the venue to hold it there, the city (tax payers) pays for it with the objective that by hosting such events gives not only a profile to the city but has economic impact from a few thousand delegates & press tipping up in the city for a week.

You have to respect the fact he didn’t start laughing and say fuck me People ain’t going to fall for that shit.

Who to vote for when any majority or even a coalition probably invites disaster?

I am vainly hoping for Rory Stewart to marshall the middle earth and ride to our rescue.

I am not sure whether 20 or 30 years ago I may have tried to dance with a girl on a dance floor to get off with her and I may have put my arms around her and touched her back.
