Oh well that's fcuked it.
DUP have a veto every four years on the EU/NI regulatory bit of Dul Ffiffels " compromise plan"
AND
No actual solutions to the customs checks bit of the proposal and what happens if they're not available in time (or indeed ever).
No Deal it is then.

Does anyone remember when border checks were just part of “project fear”?

I just simply disagree and (of course) believe I have the right of it.

in late 2019 the duplicitous other parties - Labour, Scots, Welsh, Irish, Remainers - will make no effort to come to an agreement.

Unfortunate as it is - the only outcome that delivers Brexit is by taking us out and then fixing things.
So everyone in the UK other than the roughly 11 million non-Labour English Leave voters is duplicitous? All 54 million?
I've heard it all now.

Ha the EU are not inpressed
Boris has never wanted a deal, has not been negotiating for a deal, shut down parliament to get no deal through, will break the law to get no deal through,he is a fucking joke and a liar to boot

TBH, i wouldnt say the DUP has veto...as my understanding is that it could essentially be a referendum type situation over here...but the options are basically asking the border question....so imagine...

...the tensions that Brexit has brought to the UK...all compounded and ADDED to the existing tensions in NI...repeat and build that up every 4 years.

Gonna be great craic.

So the same people that were adamant that taking no deal off the table would be disastrous for our negotiating position now are saying we’d be better off leaving with no deal then negotiate after? So we’d be negotiating new trade deals not only with the EU but all the other nations around the world from the most desperate of situations?

The DUP would have a veto in Stormont.
Interestingly Sinn Fein have already come out against the proposal so I guess if it was agreed (it won't be) they would simply refuse to refuse to participate in the NI parliament effectively killing of the GFA.

I need to check but DUP dont have that majority any more...at stormont. But we need stormont up and running anyway....SF could basically scupper it anyway

Yes. It's a bit like trying to claim you meant to shit your pants.

Can't see anyway the Irish will agree to this.

I originally thought that the negotiations were somewhat of a sham and I only see this as a strengthening of that neither

About a week ago I did a post explaining about the worrying trends in the American bond markets that usually signify a downturn or even a recession.

Today the Stock Market has suffered its biggest losses for 3 years and other worldwide markets are following suit.

I am fairly fine with leaving, about 60/40 in favour, but if the economic markers that we have seen today get worse leaving now without a deal could be economic suicide.

Just watching the news and it's worth mentioning that I know for a fact that the technological solutions Johnson keeps banging on about for the NI/Ireland border are not even close to being developed. He is lying through his teeth.

Basically this proposal is a load of bollocks.
It's been issued purely for domestic political consumption and is already being spun by the right wing media as an entirely reasonable and workable proposal (which it isn't).
It's like the plans May used to come up with that unravelled within twenty four hours.
Loads of deal breakers in the proposal including the DUP veto.
