Extinction Rebellion

Your words not mine, WE. That implies yourself does it not.

You started the name calling as you were losing an argument that hadn't even started. And i've already asked you, how do you propose food arrives to your home? plastic happens to be the best way to keep it fresh as possible.

These billions of pounds they have earned are through their hard work and supplying of products that people like you want and demand in the first place, and yes i'm including myself in that, secondly why would they change they way they are earning money unless forced to and the best way to do that is not buy certain products until things change.

Again i assumed because YOU used the word WE in the very first sentence!! No one pushes shit on anyone, you buy it from peer pressure due to be weak minded, it's as simple as that.

The top and bottom of it all really is we all want to act like we give a fuck about the climate, we all want to say look at me on whatever social media platform we use but in reality very very few of us give a fuck.

We'll all drive our cars, wear the latest brands, buy the next gadget that comes out, fly abroad couple of times a year, put the heating on instead of wearing an extra layer, put air-con on instead of opening windows and demand foods from the other side of the world.

Hypocrites the lot of us.
I can’t be arsed arguing this but we’re saying the basically the same thing whilst calling each other. People buy shit they don’t need, you pointed the finger at me, I called at you back.

I think some of the blame lies with the wealth hoarders you don’t.

Busy spraying thousands of litres of fake blood from a decommissioned fire engine onto the front of the treasury building.

Arrest the fucking idiots and bang em up for a few weeks.

All good anarchist fun - where indeed were the police? Or the Mayor? After all these are his 'allies'.

Utter cunts the lot of them, got fuck all better to do, and how much fucking diesel has that truck used!!

They may be useless cunts, idiots, scruffs, idle, cunts, twats, miserablists, lazy, cunts, thick etc etc etc etc.

BUT

People are taking are notice of them, that is the whole point of democratic expression, whether you like it or not.

Nah, we're all laughing at them.

Today’s publicity stunt made them look like cunts, how much cleaning agents have been needed to clean that up? How much diesel? Totally against what they’re campaigning against.

It may have done, but the publicity it got has made it all worthwhile as I am pretty sure their message hit home. Sometimes when you campaign you have to cross the line and they did, they will know not everybody will see it that way, put who thought Emily Davison throwing herself in front of the Kings horse and killing herself in the Derby would ultimately lead to female suffrage or that people putting flowers into soldiers guns would end the Fascist regime of the Portugese dictator Antonio Salazar.

They could have stood with placards at Speakers Corner in Hyde Park all day and nobody would have taken any notice, they aimed big and as a result their message certainly got maximum attention.

I think it is a wonderful piece of Democratic expression, the right to protest should be sacrosanct and they exercised that right to the fullest of their abilities. Whether you agree with what they did or not, whether you agree with their cause or not, they are moot points, as it worked.

If it was coloured water using nin chemical based food colouring it will wash away without cleaning agent tbf.

If they were using biofuel, then they're contributing to the destruction of Carolinian hardwood, and tropical rain forest. This is not the point though, these idiots are now becoming a serious fucking nuisance and no, they're not influencing anyone other than those with an identical mindset. This country is leading most of the world in carbon reduction, it's been said many times on here, but flippantly dismissed, why don't they go for the greatest polluters?
They won't go to China, why not?
If they can't be bothered, why glue yourself to a train, stopping folk getting to work here, why not glue and chain yourself to the Chinese embassy?
The answers we all know, if they tried their antics in China, after a severe kicking, they'd probably be spending years in jail. These people are, as usual, attacking soft targets, for me, they're beyond contempt.

Do you believe the right to protest is beyond contempt?

No, protesting against the perpetrators/instigators of injustices, or, in this case, climate change, is laudable.
Picking on a small country, that is leading the world in it's attempts to stop it is cowardice.

But what are they actually protesting against? What do they really want to achieve? All they are doing is pissing off large swathes of the population with their antics that do nothing but inconvenience the average ma/woman on the street. When they glue themselves to buses or trains all it does is create more congestion, when they pull stunts like yesterday they end up closing roads which means other roads in the area become gridlocked meaning journeys take longer creating even more pollution than there would be if they stopped doing shit like this.

It's all well and good you comparing them to the suffragette movement but that was to bring about equality for women, this as @Ancient Citizen citizen points out is being done in a place where we're leading the world in change.

Cowardice! really.

What has the size of the country got to do with democratic expression, should the people of Hong Kong be dismissed because they are a small state protesting against a large one. I don't think they are "picking" on anybody, they are expressing their concerns which is well within their rights to do so. Like I said, I don't necessarily agree with their argument nor do I oppose it, but I definitely support their right to protest.

We have a man at work who makes bio fuel from used cooking oil.
You would deny peoples right to protest here where they are free to or are you saying you would like a police state so they don'y bother you?
Are thhey really that irritating? When deansgate was blockaded it never disrupted me if I couldn't drive down it I walked.
