Ha ha - Let's just agree to disagree - I will take comfort in being right though.
That last line shows the level of your ignorance on the subject of the backstop - and what would follow if we were to sign up to an 'unfettered' backstop, there is a clue in the word.
We would not be able to prove bad faith nor succeed in arbitration if there was so much as a AA battery anywhere near the border.
The backstop would certainly be invoked and it would be imposed for many years doing massive damage to the UK - it is a better outcome for the EU than us Remaining. Why do you think that the UK are sooooooo keen to get rid of it and the EU so keen to retain
I don't want that - nor should you if the UK's future means more to you than making petty points on an internet forum.
Some on here are capable of lying to themselves in their desperation and ignorance - don't worry - you are not alone
I don't want to leave ? How can it be my fault ffs? Scrap the stupid fucking thing= solved.
A 'soft Brexit' = solved.
I am damaging the UK's future by not wanting to inflict stuff on the Irish they don't want, but you, by insisting on doing so, are safeguarding it ? Does that factor in the IRA or will they just go along with it ?
I agree, as I repeatedly keep saying, that if we don't find a solution to the Irish border problem, the backstop would be invoked & have said, that I don't believe we will find a solution, therefore the backstop would be invoked, indefinitely.
The old deal is shite. Bozo's so called 'deal' is also shite. Brexit is shite.
If there was a GENUINE solution to the Irish border problem, there would be NO BACKSTOP.
Put the border 100% in the sea= no backstop.
But that would involve us, who instigated this fucking shit show, sorting it out ourselves, rather than forcing the EU & Ireland to sort it out for us.
It's US who are leaving them, not them who are leaving us. IT'S OUR DOING, OUR PROBLEM.
The backstop is their protection. They will not drop it, unless a solution is found.
