Extinction Rebellion

Or maybe I have job, unlike the hippies.

I'm sure you could find a cop shop open somewhere outside your working day. Take your Beemer and get the pool boy to hold the placard. Maybe start a coal fire in a bin if you get nippy.

Nippy chippy protesting like a hippy:-)

Or I could get a life perhaps?

Oh wait, I already have one. Unlike the flotsam wandering around supporting extinction rebellion.

And BTW only on bluemoon could suggesting someone owns a BMW be used as an insult. Speaks volumes.

The reality of the ER movement is somewhat different to that depicted by many on here.

The leader is a fella from Bredbury, he is currently on remand having refused to ask for Bail over his efforts in the Heathrow drone threats. He is purported to be going to use the "necessity" defence at his trial and is quite happy to go to prison for the cause. He is a well educated fella, having a degree, and is certainly not the sort of scumbag stereotype that many on here like to use. His fellow leader is a molecular biophysicist, hardly a scum bag occupation.

They operate using three guiding principles based on mass non-violent civil disobedience.

Firstly, it is only through the breaking of laws that the attention required is received.

Secondly, only through sacrifice, in this case the willingness to be arrested and go to prison is sufficient attention garnered for the cause

Thirdly, Only through being respectful towards ourselves, the police and the public can they change the hearts and minds of those who oppose them.

That is hardly the manifesto of an extremist faction hell bent on world domination, nor is it a manifesto cobbled together by a bunch of stereotypical scruffs. These people have brains and passion and make some of the opponents of their cause on here look like Neanderthal halfwits.

After the recent events 34,000 people signed up to their campaign, 20,000 signed up for the willingness to be arrested part of their guiding principles. That is honourable democratic protest not the actions of rag tag bunch of violent hooligans.

Can I just point out that after the fake blood stunt the other day they imediately had a clean up team of volunteers that cleared and cleaned the whole area back to how it was at no cost to the local coucil.

So they peacefully protest and then make sure they haven't left a place ruined.

I see none of that has been reported

And a very good well made point it is too

These people intend to close all roads around Westminster. Anyone needing the hospital, or ambulances containing seriously ill people, will be
affected.
Let's hope nobody dies.
If they do, because of this action, well, it's even more publicity, which is, apparently, the only end game.

Respecting the public means they will be let through.

Its part of their guiding principles.

I am not a supporter of ER but I admire there stance and acknowledge there intention is good. Using the right to assemble and protest is a keystone to democracy.

Send them to prison. Sorted.

And BTW "His fellow leader is a molecular biophysicist". Like that means he's have a clue about climate science. He's just a sucker like the rest of them. If he fancies a stint behind bars, I have absolutely no issue with that at all. Spend as long as you like.

If an ambulance is stopped about 10 streets away from the blockade, how are they going to 'Allow it through'?
You appear fixated with the right to protest, nobody is decrying that, this action, and the actions of the bloke on remand, involve law breaking that endangers life.
If the whole bunch of this shower glued themselves to the Chinese embassy, nobody, or not many, will voice objections.
They won't do that though, will they?
It's because they won't, that they're not going to become the next Emiline Pankhurst, or Martin Luther King.

If you have no proof then I guess you made it up.

One last chance to prove it???

Why is it my last chance?

Beetroot water was the spray and they then it was hosed clean after and brushed away.

Same as when they had a clean up team in hyde park and on deansgate.

Why do you doubt your fellow man?

More inportantly from my attatched tweet what the fuck are the police wearing? Multicoloured baseball caps ffs, no wonder no fucker fears or respects them anymore

Wasting your time with this one.
