Tbf cars have been around 111 years

The human race 300,000 years

I think we might cope with no cars if they dissapeared.

Now wheres me chariot
To be fair when the car turned up there was 1.6 billion of us, if there was a similar number of us now the car wouldn't be a problem sadly all the horse shit produced moving those 8 billion chariots nowadays would see roses growing every where.

What legitimate concerns?

2 feet sea level rise - if indeed it even happens - is not something to be throwing yourself off beachy head over.

People need to get a grip. The planet is getting a bit warmer - before it gets colder again.

So what.

The most recent special report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says we can expect the oceans to rise between 10 and 30 inches (26 to 77 centimeters) by 2100 with temperatures warming 1.5 °C. That’s enough to seriously affect many of the cities along the U.S. East Coast. Another analysis based on NASA and European data skewed toward the higher end of that range, predicting a rise of 26 inches (65 centimeters) by the end of this century if the current trajectory continues.

When America sneezes, the world catches a cold. What do you think happens when America gets Spanish Flu?

By 2075 the mediteranian will be a dessert akin to the sahara

Will be a shame

and liverpool will be under water.

So not all bad

Was listening to LBC today and it was stated their is a direct correlation between people who voted leave and people who thought ER was a waste of time.

It shows how polarised debate has become.

But I did my bit for recycling today, I sent all my favourite lego to be recycled.

There’s an almost exact geographic correlation between the areas infected by the foot and mouth outbreak and leave voting constituencies.

Just sayin.

Equally the planet will do what it has also done for billions of years without us and that is move land mass, alter sea levels, change weather patterns and go through extreme changes in temperatures.

Imagine the scenes if this lot had lived during the last ice age and who they would have blamed for it?
A distant relative of thatcher

Yeah right. On this subject you're an idiot.
On the contrary, idiots are those who have bought the "imminent catastrophy" politically motivated bullshit. And who do not realise that the sorts of progressive, gradual changes which *may* occur over the coming centuries can be sensibly managed. Or even perhaps prevented altogether with technologies of the time which we haven't even invented yet.

The scaremongering about this whole topic is completely off the scale.

Do you think Dan Walker knows anything about climate science? Of course he doesn't. And yet we get to hear him and Naga Munchetty bang on about it every single day. Perhaps more surprising, David Attenborough knows fuck all about it as well. But he loves his animals and can't abide any change which impacts so much as a flea, so he bangs on and on about it as well. Ditto Corbyn and Johnson and every other politician who thinks it's a vote winner.

It's endless. What's happened is a bunch of people who know fuck all, have got their knickers in a twist and motivated another bunch who also know fuck all, and the whole thing has snowballed into the situation we have now: Idiots panicking over nothing to panic over.

That may be the case, but remember it was Gove who said the people have had enough of experts. He delegitimised expertise.

The other issue of course is technology, I think technology can sort the problem out, first though you have to admit their is a problem then you have to incentivise industry to find a solution. Industry will not find a solution on its own because their is no profit in it. Hence the crying need for a Green Investment Bank that could help finance technological advances.

We've fucked the planets natural cycle up and killed off thousands of other species, you cannot deny that

Just seen a dumb blonde activist interviewed on the BBC , she drives a diesel van and wants an electric car, but can't afford one but life would be better if she had one . How does she think the electric is produced to power the electric car she wants ?

and all the methane horse farts would turn the planet into Venus. We just can’t win!

Greta Thunderbird after her publicised sail across the Atlantic anybody have any idea how she is getting about ? Is she walking from City to city or riding a horse ? Is she sailing up rivers ? Is she going to sail home after she has done whatever she is doing now? Or does she have here first class ticket on pollution airways already booked ?

busy writing books: a repurposed family memoir and a book of her collected speeches. I give up.

I like a lot of what you post mate but your talking utter bollox here. Most of us won’t be around in 50 years but by then the planet could be well on the way to being irreversibly fucked. but hey I suppose we should just “get on with it” as that seems to be a common view with about 51% of people in the country
