Well it seems everyone has finally got there. What do you think we have been pointing out for the past two years or so? The solution to NI border is for NI or the U.K. as a whole to remain in the Single Market and Customs Union.

That solution has never been put forward or been wanted though. The eu knows that and hasn’t compromised

The whole idea of the backstop insurance policy was a load of shite. They just wanted Northern Ireland to remain in the eu

I would absolutely welcome a no deal now. An eu where the decision maker is Angela merkel and we have Unelected Eurocrats lecturing us. Good riddance to the undemocratic orgainstation which you clearly love so much

Unfortunately mate with the Tories in town that ain't gonna happen.
They have already brought the country to an existential crisis as a consequence of a botched attempt to solve an internal party issue re. UKIP.
Now they will threaten anything - the Union, the Monarchy, the Constitution, the Judiciary, the GFA -that gets in their way to power.
And I sincerely hope that will be their downfall.

I replied to Gaudion and his "not the brightest" comment.

I will let you get back to your mates and your opinions on us brexit voters now.
Not my opinions, those abroad, which is what i was talking to george about before you jumped and started saying 'echo chamber' a lot

After today’s news i think the prospect of a no deal Brexit has increased considerably.

If the opposition really want to stop a no deal. They need to get their act together.

IMO A GE will most likely deliver a no deal Brexit with the Tory’s and Brexit party having enough seats to force it through. So, IMO if the opposition are to stop a no deal, the best prospect is to:

  • Call a vote of no confidence
  • Lib Dems need compromise and get behind Corbyn as a temp leader
  • Labour should compromise and agree to a referendum before a GE.
  • This means labour could actually try and overturn some of the austerity measures albeit until a GE
  • The options on a referendum should be Mays deal, No Deal and Revoke. That would at least allow it to be democratic.
Any other thoughts on how to stop a no deal?

The opposition aren't interested in deal, no deal or noels deal.

The opposition is only interested in power and they know full well that an unsuccessful election campaign will destroy Saint Jeremy.

Their latest plan is to attempt to bypass democracy and implement Corbyn as PM without even having an election.

Leavers complain what was promised has not been delivered. Remainers complain what is being delivered is not what was promised. Neither has exclusive rights to the moral high ground. We are where we are.

The only argument seems to me whether this is best sorted out by a general election or a confirmatory referendum.
A GE may well result in a hung parliament and we are potentially no further forward. For a confirmatory referendum you have to have a leave option and that, after three plus years, doesn't exist. There are a good few hurdles to go through before we get either. I genuinely dont think we have touched bottom yet by a good few fathoms.

Tell all the leave voters we've left, give them blue passports and revoke article 50. Everyone happy.

To replace Johnson who's PM without having an election and without a majority.
