Help needed to stop me getting banned!!!

If anyone was at old Trafford in April just before the game I got arrested on the concourse for jibbing in ....

... though I go to the game with my daughters personally I think they are just trying to justify their jobs as we all know there is very little trouble at football these day.

Did the OP's daughters have tickets or were they jibbing in too?

As far as jibbing in goes, its a bit of a dipper thing isn't it? Imagine if 100, or 1000 fans decided to jib in. Hilsborough ffs.

I must have done it dozens of times years ago doubling up etc etc, if you get away with it good on you?? At least we'll be able to fill the empty seats:)

Back in the day hundreds done it each match at Maine Road especialy for the big games .Some got "doubling up" in the Kippax to a fine art

You say you go with your Daughter.
How old is she and has she got a ST.
You might be able to play on the fact that she will be unable to attend games if you are banned.

If not the above I think you will have to throw some money at it and get a Solicitor to issue a Summons against City if they ban you because you were D & D.
From what I have read they have no way of proving this. I doubt City would want to go to Court as they would probably get no support from the Police who would not be interested
in taking part in any legal proceedings. Call their Bluff.
It is a private Club. City can set whatever rules it likes. They can issue bans as they see fit. They do not need to go to Court.

Where does a jibber expect to sit in an all seater Stadium. Oh right, in some poor cunts seat who has been daft enough to pay for it.

Sounds like it was an away game anyway, which all know gives people unofficial license to take your seat anyway regardless of whether or not you're physically capable of standing for 90mins.

So if city got to the champions league final to win the quadruple and our entire 2k allocation (in a 90k stadium) got given entirely to the corps so you have zero chance of a ticket, youre telling me you wouldnt try and jib in?

I flew to dynamo kyiv away without a ticket and got through 4 checkpoints saying English my tickets stuck in the machine. Not many will beat that one telling you.
I went to the Euro's in Portugal 04 and got in every single game and then the World cup in Germany 06 and got in all bar one without any tickets.

Before anyone says anything, I know, I am a big time thief ;-)

Was the game where balotelli was allergic to the grass I think, was the coldest ive ever been at a match left at half time to watch it in a bar haha.

Well they can't as it happens. Football Banning Orders are covered by law and statute (Football Spectators Act 1989) and there are requirements that have to be met when applying for one. They also have to be signed off by a court I believe, so at least a magistrate.

The requirements are somewhat wide though, so you could get a football banning order even if you go to the pub the day after a game, get into an arguments with some rags and it turns violent. You can be banned for the crime of associating with known hooligans so if you're in the pub with a mate, and a mate of your mate comes to sit with you and spends the rest of the evening chatting, if he's a "known hooligan" you could in theory get a banning order even if you had no idea who he was or his past.

I know of a case where a female City fan got a banning order simply because she appeared on a photo with Rod Rhoden and his mates (long after his hooligan career ended) that was used on the cover of his book. She either just got dragged in or was with a lad who knew some of the others.

I didn't think you could get a banning order if you'd not been charged and only issued with a caution however, but that may just be if the police want the banning order. City may be able to apply for one regardless and, on the face of it, this case meets the key criteria of being (a) football related and (b) '...using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour'. Obviously kippx kid disputes he was guilty of (b) in relation to "abusive or insulting words" but jibbing in probably counts as "disorderly behaviour".

Clearly he's been a bit of a dick but that doesn't mean he should face being banned for 3 years or whatever. The criminalisation of football fans is ridiculous. Would you be banned from public transport for 3 years if you were caught without a ticket on a bus, train or tram? You'd get a fine probably and that would be it.
