Logistically we may be very reliant, but our trade is not nearly as reliant on Britain as NI, who will be hit very hard.
It's one of the reasons that NI business are so against the current deal that Varadkar and Johnson are supposedly discussing.
A lot of your trade with Britain is dependant on either supply from the south or some element of the production line, before you ever get to export a product to the mainland.
This could see the dairy industry collapse and the culling of cattle and the abandonment of the land, is one forecast I have seen.
The North really is being sentenced to a maybe not so slow death, in many sectors.

That is exactly why the current disastrous paralysis would be reinforced by a second referendum and it would also condition and distort everything that followed - an absolutely reckless course. Just watching some pathetic BBC political correspondent shrugging his shoulders about the BoJo/Varadkar talks and gurning that a deal is as likely as Ed Balls winning Strictly. What has happened to this country - it makes my heart bleed.Only if you see the world exclusively in terms of Leavers and Remainers.
There in lies the problem with Brexit, the division it creates and the lack of logic and objectivity. But yes, i do agree with the point you make about the dangerous outcome.
WTF???
Dead to me now.....
What is your definition of 'thriving'?
Wow.
Wow.
Where did you dig that up from and is there a date on it?
I actually read the first part down as far as "Arrest" in the second green book and it does seem to be not only contradictory as well as warped, but it does seem to be a long time out of date.
Wipe your drive now.I could tell ya, but i'd have to kill ya.....
lol, i literally googled "Irish Republican Army Application form" for a laugh.....just another belter to add to the browser history....

I disagree there. to me, the only way out is a second referendum. A GE would make little or no difference, imho. Other than maybe for Scotland, where the mandate for another independence referendum would be strengthened.
Either way, GE or not, i believe a second referendum on brexit is a must.
And to be clear, i say that not because i hope it would overturn the result, but to put it to bed, and stop the never ending cries of whatever deal not being brexity enough, and the festering aftermath of that.
Seven you say. OK here are the apocalyptic runners and riders: Merkel, Macron, BoJo/Farage (double saddle), JezzerFollowed swiftly by the 7 horsemen of the apocalypse right?
I think where George is correct though is how would a question in another referendum even be framed.I disagree there. to me, the only way out is a second referendum. See @blueinsa reply to this poster just now. A second referendum before a GE and before the first has been honoured would be catastrophic for any trust in government. Those who are proposing it are simply trying to stop Brexit, it is a completely dishonest and dangerous diversion.I think where George is correct though is how would a question in another referendum even be framed.
That itself is divisive depending on how you voted in the first one. The fact is a referendum is contrary to your form of democracy where parliament is sovereign, etc etc. You get the picture. Yes a confirmatory 2nd referendum was mentioned before 2016 result by the likes of Farage and Rees Mogg no less, but without a WA to put to the people what are the options?
It’s perfectly plausible (though less than likely imo) that a second vote could be to leave once again. That would significantly put the matter to bed without any meaningful doubt. A vote to remain wouldn’t, that’s for sure.See @blueinsa reply to this poster just now.
