I really hope Boris has the DUP on side, otherwise this could end very badly. He must know that, so I'm guessing he has ;).Finally.

SNP and Lib Dems are never voting for any deal so they are irrelevant. Boris needs the DUP and ERG to back this, and he can also offer a route back into the fold for the rebels if they support it. That leaves the 30 or so Labour MPs who are desperate to get this sorted and he's home and dry. If he gets this done the Brexit Party is finished and he walks the next election. My guess is they are well aware of the deal under discussion and like the rest of us it needs to get done.
ERG the same.
SNP and Lib Dems along with obvious remain MP's will vote against but they will lose imo
You're even more bonkers than I possibly could have imagined if you believe for 1 nano-second that us leaving will result in any possibility of us moving further to the left. The more socialist-entrenched EU is/was your last hope of preventing the continuing, incessant progression away from left leaning politics in this country.
We're getting richer, most people - most voters - are getting better and better off by the decade. And as we do, the donkey jacket vote declines inexorably further.
There really are none so blind as those who will not see. Out from under the restrictive petticoat of EU socialist tendency, you can look forward to years of Tory rule, and if they get in, Labour centre ground rule. Socialism is dead as a dodo already, but deader than disco once we leave.
That doesn't really surprise me funnily enough.Just seemed to be the truth of what you were saying - so I cannot understand why you are touchy
Nah, whatever happens they will claim they were right all along.Boggles my mind how you and G.H come to this conclusion. it really does.

3) We can all look forward to 5 more years of Boris at the helm with a majority to get things done ;)I have to agree.
There’s two positives I’m taking-
1) we’ll have a deal finally, one in which doesn’t sound as bad as May’s, we can move on to the next stage and start to focus on the domestic agenda and actual trade deals more
2) that **** Farage will disappear
There will be a customs border for goods in the Irish Sea. The choice was always binary. A land border or a sea border. EU and Dublin wanted a sea border and are willing to facilitate a sea border. The price for a sea border is a fudgy compromise on customs status for NI. How this affects the people travelling between NI and mainland Britain is unclear but ‘services’ is ‘people’ so there will be some checks.
Extraordinary when you think that the purpose of Brexit is to impose sanctions on ourselves.

Lol, just my little joke ;)I’m not sure I can stretch to that I’m afraid :-)
Doubt they will be privy to details anymore than the rest of us. They will be getting reassurances but details no. It will live or die on the exact text. DUP are in a bind though so who knows.
Truth is there may be no details other than staked out common ground with details to be filled in during further negotiations during the next extension.
I would suggest that if the UK genuinely leaves the EU then we should all agree an Indyref2 for 2024 - 10years since the last one would seem appropriate given the last one was supposed to be a 'once in a generation decision'Yep, nothing kills off nationalism like the sense of depriving people of their will, access to security and growth, and then letting them watch while someone else gets what they are looking for. Yippp, that wil nip it right in the bud!
From his perspective Lenin was too right wing. The funny thing is with both of your views is that @Rascal will see the EU as very much capitalist and part of the right wing problem with the west.
To be fair the EU does block a lot of socialist policies whilst being a very good defender of workers’ rights.
My prediction is that the proposals will include NI effectively staying in the CU and SM but it will be dressed up to say the opposite. In other words, Johnson will have caved.

We in GB never gave a toss about this I think. It is only the DUP who do and it is they who will have caved if that gets through, since their support will be needed if it is to get through on that basis. My prediction is that the proposals will include NI effectively staying in the CU and SM but it will be dressed up to say the opposite.
