I don't think Boris wants no deal enough to use tactics to get a better deal.

Boris will sell leavers down the river but his spin tactics by pinning things on the EU will ensure that leavers think it is the best thing since sliced bread.

I fully expect him to come out soon and say a deal is sorted with the EU and then he will use all weapons available to get it through. After that everything else like general elections and referendums are irrelevant.

At the moment his only goal is to keep public scrutiny away from the deal because that is what destroyed May. If he can get in a position where basically Parliament is given no choice but any deal on the table or no deal then he will get it through.

He can also threaten the Tories with removing the whip etc like he has done before to make sure they fall into line. Even if they lose the vote then the fault will then lie entirely with the remain bits in Parliament who won't allow us to leave with a deal OR no deal.

I think Johnson’s goal will be to keep all scrutiny away from the deal not just the public :)

Although I think most of the public would take anything right now even May’s exhumed deal slathered in lipstick.

Parliament will support the right deal.

Boris has just repackaged what May agreed and all the lads in the ERG are happy because it's not a woman selling it.

A fair point - but i think it will be a softer deal andtherefore not sure they will all get on board. And the DUP wont like it. So even with all tories and some labour and some of the indi tories I still think this fails. The choice is this or an extension. So it could be this subject to a 2nd ref and an extension to accomodate it, that might well be the outcome. I will take that.

Aye. I'd support that too.

That will send a photo sensitive into a spin.

I think the theory that the erg are worried this is the only way they can get brexit over the line, is part of why they'll back it and maybe more realistic than the misogyny theory

Either that or remain campaigners didn't listen, didn't comprehend or just dont care what he said and will now claim those words he muttered are a figment of leavers imagination?

Maybe its fake news dave and a fake video made by the Russians and CA?
But don't most of you say nobody was influenced by anything said in the campaign?

key details as described by the PM in that video, a remainer btw should have been noted by everyone.

Those advert are so pointless - 'Prepare yourself for 31st Oct , you may need to fill out extra forms ' etc etc

Costly bollox

Its just Johnson trying to emphasise he thinks that we are leaving on the

What are you trying to say up the moral upstanding folk on here?

Yep. Looks like they will swallow in part because they like all the future divergence (lower standards, lower worker protections etc) talk from Johnson. There will be a de facto customs border in the Irish Sea but politically NI is still part of our union. Basically ERG Tories and I guess the DUP just ran out of room.

Not too sure how realistic ‘future divergence’ talk actually is but the promise to the ERG of jam tomorrow is better than no jam at all. If the EU and Dublin walk away with a deal that ensures no land border and protects the all Ireland economy they will see it as a reasonable result. Until we see the text and detail though it’s still a guessing game.

So this has to be agreed tonight as there's no negotiations on Thursday. That will be just to look at all the legal documentation.

What a big night.
