Because that's not what we're determining.

We voted to leave the EU and are now (after years of remoaner bleating) determining "what sort of leave" the people voted for. Leaving with a deal, ore leaving without a deal.

If you can engineer it so that we "leave by remaining" i'm all ears.

We’ve spent 3years determining what sort of leave people voted for and don’t have a consensus because there isn’t one. A large number of leavers won’t like whatever deal is agreed for different reasons as with the last deal that was agreed.

Interesting seeing a Remain voter saying the EU act like cunts!

Lol. It’s always been the case. The mistake made by Leavers is that the EU is weak and by Remainers that the EU is nice. It is neither weak nor nice. Nice don’t win you shit.

Currently the EU is acting like cunts over accession talks for West Balken countries (well France is because it’s France). These countries have undergone changes and reforms just to please the EU so they can get in the EU and it’s still not enough. And still they will keep on trying. France is being shortsighted in my opinion but that’s the rules. Everyone agrees or no one agrees.

I can't speak for other remainers, I just know that narrative is a load of shit. The bailout of Greece had nothing to do with saving the Greek economy, it was only ever about saving the German and British economies as our banks had been recklessly lending to Greece.
Yeah, but that is exactly what the EU was meant to be, and clearly it isn't.

Which is why I want to leave it. This "EU" is one being "dictated" by the strongest economies, strongest political powers and strongest industries. How you can stomach us being a part of this EU, or proclaiming that this current EU being a good thing when this is clearly the case that it is unequal, it baffles me.

You'd happily throw Greece under the bus (no pun intended) just to satisfy ourselves? What kind of "union" is this?

They are less cunty than we were. They don't use concentration camps for example.
Oh FFS...

It does contain members who once did though, and in a very VERY different way to how the Empire did. (Seriously, you want to go down this tit for tat route?)

But it still satisfies the mandate of leaving, doesn't it.

Hot take from the MoS...

‘People keep saying "Boris's deadline has focussed minds". Correct. It focussed Varadkar, Barnier and Merkel's minds on the fact Boris would have to make major concessions to meet his own self-imposed 31 October withdrawal date.’

The Brexit deadline did indeed work to make a breakthrough. It worked in that it forced Johnson to make concessions.

Absolutely genius piling pressure on yourself to compromise.

re Greece, no not at all, I'd like the EU to change, and by being a senior member we can do that. Listen, you asked what kind of deal remainers would want, I gave you my answer, you then got upset about that answer. I don't think there is a good way out of brexit, I just think customs union is the least shit option. Personally I'd prefer to remain, but I also worry angry brexiters will smash up their own shit towns if that was to happen.

No, we can't, we tried, that's what the Cameron reforms were intended to bring about; the notion of reform.

We were told "no, but you can veto". I voted to leave precisely because it became clear the EU has ZERO intention of reforming to become like the EU we clearly agree that we'd like it to be and currently isn't.

It's very simple, if David Cameron came to me asking for something, anything, regardless of what it is he wanted, I would also have told him to fuck off too. He's just got one of those faces.

Well again the money doesn’t go to the dup does it, that’s illegal. Dup secures more funding for Ireland in order to gain its support.

Maybe some of these labour MPs in leave areas could think of their constituents for once and go an see Boris ( is that an acceptable name) listen to the deal on offer and may be say yeah we will vote for it on condition.

You commit to prioritising and funding a East to west high speed rail line, more funding for schools and hospitals in the region?

That’s politics I am afraid . Will they do it will they fuck.

Labour MPs will support if Johnson commits to protecting workers rights and consumer standards in line with EU rights and standards. 19 wrote a letter saying this. Will Johnson commit to this? No.

Politics cuts both ways.

And the DUP got burned over the ‘cash for ash’ scandal so the opposition will be watching to see which areas get all this new public money. Assuming the DUP climb on board that is.

So one of the stumbling blocks is France are not happy with us leaving without restrictions upon us because they are worried we will became an attractive economic powerhouse on its doorstop and it does not want that!!!

What the fuck , I thought we were going to be fucked economically if we left, but actually the French are worried we will be too powerful economically ?

We wanted the EU to abandon the four freedoms. We got told to fuck off. We are now in the process of fucking off and fucking up. Makes you proud to be British*

* Please note that future events may render this term redundant.

How mature

Have not seen the deal yet so let’s wait and see

Hmmm, no snideyness...

Sarcasm? I'm going with sarcasm.

I also thought there were no benefits to leaving the EU... ;)

Nice one France, making our argument for us.
