The DUP ain’t coming back now. It would be a huge loss of face and a disaster for them within their own constituency. No amount of money is going to do it. The rhetoric on the Unionist side is going to get turned up to 11 over the next few days.

They have several faces i wouldn't worry about that.

You’ve spent the last year complaining the NI border was being weaponised, alternative arrangements would work fine and it was a ploy to keep the UK in the EU. This deal confirms the border was real, the alternative arrangements fox has been shot and we have agreed to a customs border in the Irish Sea so forgive me for not being entirely convinced by your assurances on NI and Irish politics :)

I've spent the last 3 years saying a deal would be agreed between Dublin, the gov and Brussels that meant no hard border.

I think i said that checks would be done at the point of entry ie the ports.

I've spent 3 years saying the backstop was a trap in that it was the EU that had full and final say on what happened and i stand by that.

Control of the future is now in the hands of the Northern Irish citizens.

This is significant. Leave backing UUP. One time hard core leaver. Now seeing the light.

Looks like he'll be their next leader as well. Tbf they have to do something, they're being out flanked by the DUP and Alliance on either side and there's a big danger of the moderate unionist vote (who want a compromise that respects the GFA by all accounts) feeling disenfranchised if they're given a choice between those two while the nationalists stick with Sinn Fein and the SDLP.

You've spent plenty of time arguing for "alternative arrangements" as well.

I must have imagined in all those weaponising NI border, alternative arrangements will work fine - it’s not a man on a bike - and it’s a ploy to keep us in the EU posts then.

The choice was always binary. Land border or sea border. The EU wanted a sea border and lo it came to pass. It just took us two PMs and three years to accept it.

And I think it’s good of us to grant the citizens of NI control of their future especially after we enforced a decision on them that they expressly didn’t vote for. I look forward to Scotland and Wales demanding the same control of their future. I’m sure it will be forthcoming.

The backstop weaponised the border and right up till the last few days the weaponising of it continued.

Fuck me we even had men in balaclavas rolled out the other day.

That has been taken away despite assurance that it could and never would be, you remember that?

We have a deal with the backstop removed, the very thing that parliament 3 times said it could not stomach.

Should be happy days but im a realist and know full well that those that just wanted no deal off the table lied through their teeth and will now move the goalposts again.

Not a solution though is it. More like an abandonment.

Of who?

Northern Irish didn't want change to FOM or trade you have all said and this deal changes nothing unless they decide otherwise after a period of time.

This deal gets rid of the backstop that was unacceptable to our parliament and takes away the EU having the final say.

It might make the DUP feel abandoned but I've watched you all for 3 years not give a fuck about them so not too sure im going to have much sympathy for you caring about them now.

Northern Ireland remains a part of the UK and they have the best of both worlds in terms of trade.

I do remember that. I would also point out that the backstop was a temporary insurance policy until and when alternative arrangements came into force; arrangements that you insisted were ready now. So they have taken the temporary insurance policy and made it permanent policy with one concession. Consent of the people of NI which is the correct decision in my view.

And alternative arrangements? No where to be found. The dog that never barked because it never existed.

Out of the two communities who right now is adamantly opposed to this deal and who is giving it a cautious OK? That will tell you everything you need to know about this deal from a NI perspective.

The DUP are a bunch of cunts - I will give you that.

Either this gets through parliament or we bin the whole thing by revoking A50.

No more extensions.

Get Brexit Done. One way or another.

I fully agree and I think the nation would agree as well. People want brexit done as they are sick of it. This should be the last shot. Convince the HoC or forget the whole thing.

It was temporary but it left us at the mercy of the EU and them alone.

That was unacceptable and it had to go and go it did.

One thing that has been consistent with the DUP is that once they no that's it 3 times thus far total fruitcakes they do have principles and keeping the union together is there's. Accepting this deal would be a step down the part to the re unification of Ireland and they know it!!

Even i will completely agree with this.

Vote on Saturday and if they say no tot he deal they need to revoke and call for a GE immediately.

A new parliament is needed to then get brexit done because it isn't going to go away until it is done.

In other words nobody knows yet. You'd be a bold man to predict anything with absolute certainty at this stage
Or a dickhead brexit no deal lttle
I've just seen the footage of Johnson and Macron shaking hands. Both are coupling so tightly they are one fireplace from reenacting the famous naked wrestling scene from Woman in Love.
Jesus h christ thats tea spoilt ..

I think revoking has to be the ultimate and final safety net, not the immediate alternative, and even then, only really to avoid a no-deal. Or in order to sort it via a referendum
