Var debate 2019/20

I think Shearer said last night that out of 90 penalties, not one has been over ruled. So these refs have got every one correct, that’s a remarkable turn around for a group that weren’t deemed good enough to have a representative at the last World Cup

Its like asking a dyslexic to spell Constantinople and then asking another dyslexic to check and verify he got it right.

That amount of contact does get a penalty at Klanfield. No way were Burnley getting anything out of that game yesterday given the significance to certain relevant parties. The fix was in all day long
If you read select musings about their title winning season, the fix has been in for longer than a day.

Absolutely, i am a biased bastard but the scenario you just gave?

Goal given after VAR sees no foul.
I would be far less outraged if we’d had that goal ruled out than I was by the Jesus spurs goal being disallowed. To me it was a foul plain n simple. Agree to disagree pal

Well I think everyone knows that is not the case but the ‘bar’ is clearly too high to make VAR fit for purpose to positively intervene in a football match. Completely ludicrous isn’t it.

I think he said nearly 90 games this season in the Premiership and still not one penalty decision for or against had been overturned, how stubborn are they to think they are so right all the time? The Dipper one v Leicester was begging to be overturned and the Wolves penalty yesterday was dubious. In both those instances the attacking player threw himself at an outstretched leg.

I must have misheard him but my point is still valid. The Mane one last time out was disgraceful, similar to the free kick they were given at Newcastle last season when they got a last minute winner

It certainly is valid, the level of incompetence is kept within the Pgmol gates, they are well paid for being terrible at their jobs and are so stubborn they refuse to acknowledge they can make mistakes. Get rid of the VAR gravy train, these lot deserve fuck all.

nail on the head !! I think our refs need a huge pat on the back for such a huge improvement 100% correct on penalties they must be inline for a huge bonus. idont understand why the media aren't all over this improvement its amazing, world class improvement.

joking ;)

The inherent problems in VAR are that it stops the game, and relies on subjective interpretation which is no more reliable than the match officials.

Some of the problems being described e.g., clear and obvious errors and overturning on-field ref's decisions are down not to VAR but how it is being implemented.

VAR has been an unmitigated disaster. It will be suspended once a Liverpool or Man Utd are badly affected. Then the media will go into uproar and discover its faults.

Well you can expect that to be overturned at old Trafford today with a scouse penalty via var.

Liverpool are being effected, but in a positive way

Just how do you not give a penalty for the push on KDB. It just defies reason.

It was hardly the biggest error in the world, just being ridiculously promoted on here as if it was the gravest of errors to suit the narrative.

In real time it would have been a very difficult decision to make.

Compared to the one Mane got in their last game it was as stone wall as they come

Liverpool were badly affected with the blatant foul on Matip when 1-0 down at home to Newcastle but they managed to win the game, similar story in the Super Cup final with the clear handball. Cannot think of a Utd one to be honest.

The media has discovered its faults and VAR is criticised constantly to suggest otherwise is a bit crazy.
