Can I just add that for most of that game, despite the two assists, he was disappontingly predictable. No pace to go past his fullback, just the pass inside 90% of the time. We could have done so much better.

As opposed to the jet heeled Bernado when he's there instead. Some great moments from Mahrez and great workrate.

I thought he had a good game. He was up against a good LWB and the left sided CB, t's very hard to do much when you're 2v1 all day, and he didn't have the support from Walker that Mendy gave to Sterling. When Atalanta changed shape in the second half, and he was no longer outnumbered, he was much more effective.
That's true enough, Walker had a difficult time but I thought Mahrez was a contributory cause rather than the victim of that. There was one occason when his lack of commitment was really exposed - he just stopped running to allow their keeper to get to a ball he should have buried. A gifted player maybe but a poor buy.

Maybe? well, let's just say that the majority of Premier League players (the ones that actually play professional football on the pitch) have elected him the best not long ago. That's enough for me ...

Cancelo will offer him another option going forward that Walker seems to lack.

Or could be on purpose and Pep doesn't want to overload that side with the fullback, but less sure about that.
