You're still living in 2015/16, Bob.

This would have been all very interesting before the vote, but since all parties agreed we'd leave, both after the result in 2016 and then again in 2017, then how difficult this transition period may or may not be, is interesting but ultimately irrelevant. It's what must be done.
Well said - quite a few have not been able to move themselves on from the campaign into the here and now

I believe there are no meaningful benefits to leaving, especially abandoning the European customs union and single market which could have been kept hold of in an EFTA/EEA deal.

So soft brexit/remain while protecting our economy, freedoms such as freedom of movement, would be the best for the county in my opinion.
Fair enough

I can accept that for a lot of people that would represent Leaving

For myself and many others that represents BRINO

Govt wins the vote on its Queens Speech and immediately demands a General Election

Was that the "vital" need for proroguing parliament that Johnson explained to the Queen? Dragging her out in her 90s to open a parliament that they then say they want to close. "Philip, why can't I ask this liar to resign?"

Even the Telegraph thinks it's mad.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politic...ns-speech-ridiculous-waste-majestys-time/amp/

(And the Express take on the Queen's Speech vote is that Johnson was "saved from humiliation". Not even faint praise for their hero.)

Well regards your first quote, I still 100% think that. In fact I still 100% think the second one, come to think of it.

All that's changed is that I've moved on from "we need to stop this" to "it's gone on long enough, we have to get on with it".
Again - well said

That is surely what comes of being capable of debating with a level of objectivity?

People should be capable of adapting their views based on the prevailing circumstances and not be narrowly stuck and increasingly entrenched in their views of years ago

I suggest that it is not you that has the problem

Here and now, the madness of the campaign and its result are exposed more than ever. Unless you really really think people would have voted for the economic damage (maybe not the full project fear doom but a lot of it - devaluation, inflation, brink of recession, car industry on the brink) and three years of political paralysis, etc etc.

Prevailing circumstances? Two years where all polls show a Remain majority. Liar Johnson with a minority government. Queen shamefully used. The Union at risk. Economic damage and we haven't left yet. Inward investment stalled. No-one any longer citing any benefit of leaving. More austerity to come (ask your local council where their next cuts will bite). Looking to Trump for a deal to make a minuscule dent in the lost trade fron tariffs to the EU.

Chippy, at least give us a "well said" so he knows your new stance is just one of desperation.

Nonsense.

It’d be great if you could follow your own advice once in a while.

Unfortunately Vic, since you started on your campaign of vitriol against our PM, with the incessant "Liar Johnson" childish shit, I'm finding your posts so interminably boring, I can barely bring myself to read them. Dull, does not describe it.

And you describe me as desperate??? Have you read your own posts? You're working yourself up into a right old state as the imminent prospect of a Tory majority government looms. If anyone looks desperate, take a look in the mirror.

Boring but right? It's all the stuff you've said for three years and presumably still believe.

Actually, Liar Johnson is quite courteous compared to Blond Vermin which is where I started.

"Get Brexit Done" seems to have worked as a childish shit slogan. Why not "Liar Johnson"?

leavers abusing MP's are fucking idiots and so to are these numpties.

Not clicking the Sun but know what it’s about.

It’s yet another example of the poison of social media.

I’m actually beginning to think that it’s not just Brexit that unleashed “dark forces” in this country, with the bile and venom in politics, I think a lot of it is Facebook and Twitter, it’s why I’m off both and it’s why I feel better for it.

Absolutely 100% agree.

I go on and on about Twitter on here, facebook is no better.

Its a fucking poison on our society.

I have been predicting for months that would be the outcome - so I do not 'blame' anyone
It was always a possible outcome. Did you make that prediction before or after Liar Johnson said no government could accept it?
