I didn't actually see the CL game and missed the end of the Villa match? Were the second yellow cards deserved?
The second yellow in the CL probably was, the first never, but that's for the player to address, if you've had one (just or not) you need to adapt your game.

I'm not arsed about the Fernandhino one as it has no real impact on us, in fact its probably beneficial, and could have been deliberate, though at the game I didn't think so, and haven't seen a replay. As it works out he misses a game he was always going to miss anyway, and as a result of the second booking being converted to red, he loses a booking for later in the season (though if he gets another second yellow, he'll get 2 games instead of 1).

Agree with the bolded parts.
Put another way. If 2 people challenge for a ball and one is late and ends up kicking the other player's leg, is it a foul? Of course it is. He wouldn't have meant to kick his opponent. May not have been aware he would. Clearly trying to win the ball but if he's late he's late and it's a free.
It's not like it was a 50-50. The defender wasn't trying to win the ball. It was already under control and he was trying to clear it until Mane prevented him from doing so by fouling him.

Still think VVD would be a bigger loss, but Matip has certainly improved this season. Agree with you in respect to Lovren, poor defender and this news is certainly a boost to City's chances in a couple of weeks.

I like the prospect of Aguero against Lovren.

Milners stamp on Moura should have been a straight red. He was nowhere near the ball and knew exactly what he was doing.
Inconsistency yet again!!!

Exactly.

Put it into role reversal - if Mane had control of the ball and was in the motion of shooting and the defender sticks his leg in the way and initiates 'contact', the penalty is given as the defender hasn't played the ball but has 'impeded' the attacking player..........

I love Sergio, like all blues, but his record at clanfieid is abysmal, I would play Gabby. I just think his extra pace and mobility will give them more problems.

This is a huge fixture in the title race, doubt Pep will start Gabby in this one. Sterling also have a poor record there, but since he scored against at Wembley and given the current form he should start. We do miss Sane in this fixture, he has scored 4 goals in 5 PL games against them and also had one ruled out in the CL.

Aguero was excellent at Anfield last year. Had he been awarded the penalty from the Lovren foul...

remember the Trial of Balotelli?

45 minutes post match was set up for his ban, never seen before by pundits, never seen again since. Proof of agenda, imo.

Virgil van hype doesn’t like pace.

It doesn't help us that you agree :)

This is why people get pissed off with some of the decisions you get, if it was a level playing field there would be much less grief.
The league table would also be a lot different. :)

I spoke with Villa fans the other day and even them believe that League is trying to help them to win it.

Sadly that's the current state of our league/fa, money and corruption will always win above honestly and integrity.

The FA aren't doing a very good job then are they, 30 years without a league title.

No, Jordan!

You lot run around the pitch for 90 minutes like demented idiots, hoof balls into the box via your full backs and centre halfs, and your forwards continually cheat by diving in the box trying to win penalties. You will never match City’s midfield for flair, class, and goals.

Jordan Henderson explains why Liverpool don’t need to match Man City’s goals from midfield
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson doesn't think the Reds necessarily have to match the goalscoring output of title rivals Manchester City's midfield.
