You don’t accept that the OP was making a general point about minute silences at the Etihad?!I didn't make it about remembrance Sunday, it is about remembrance Sunday. Its next week.

Are you an idiot ?I didn't make it about remembrance Sunday, it is about remembrance Sunday. Its next week.
Did we always commemorate it on the weekend of the nearest home game or is this a recent development ?Are you an idiot ?
Today is November 2nd, yes its 11 days before, but we don't play at home again until the 23rd, 12 days too late. I'm sure we'll wear the poppy shirt at anfield next week, and will obviously partake in their remembrance day with the class we normally do, today was Manchester City's only chance to do it before the day, and it was done perfectly.

Do you really think he was just referring to today specifically, in isolation?!I think its a reasonable assumption he was referring to today.
I wasn't able to pay tribute today as I was outside in the queue being searched by some trumped up security guard

No, I think we've always done it on the nearest date possible to the actual date, usually before the 11th.I wasn't able to pay tribute today as I was outside in the queue being searched by some trumped up security guard

I.dont agree mate, after the last post the ref was ready to kick off,.So you are saying the guy that played it deserved no regonistion? And it was kick off after that so when he finished and the ref kicked off we should all.stand for another minute in silenceWe didn’t have a silence today, everyone in the stands started clapping after The Last Post when that’s not what you’re supposed to do as that’s when we’re supposed to have a two minutes’ silence.
But I do agree, people should be in their seats earlier for these things in general.
Ok mate. Just for clarification, do you think the club should only hold minute silences in future if the anniversary of a particular death/tragedy falls exactly on a home match day? Otherwise, it’s tough shit?Ask him I guess.
Well you're certainly coming over as one, because we can't do it next week at City, as we're playing away at anfield, where I'm sure we'll also do our bit for whatever they decide to do.No I'm not an idiot but thanks for asking. People criticising the fans behaviour today (which I thought was good by the way) miss the point that loads were asking (like me) "I thought it was next week". Its not that complicated.

Load of bollocks.I think we should all remember the fallen on remembrance Sunday weekend, and then as always at the end of the season we remember all those loved ones who have passed in the last year. I think going beyond that we could end up with silences/applause at certain minutes at every single game, which I would be against.

Today was our chance to do our bit, we did it very well, and from what I saw all the clubs at home today, did the same.
Fair enough, that in itself isn’t an unreasonable view. Nor though was the general observation the OP made about minute silences. Not really sure why you tried to make it specifically about Remembrance Sunday when he clearly wasn’t.I think we should all remember the fallen on remembrance Sunday weekend, and then as always at the end of the season we remember all those loved ones who have passed in the last year. We have always, same as every club, recognised the "fallen" on the nearest day to November 11th (today in our case).
We also don't "remember all those loved ones who have passed" at the end of the season, we do it at the nearest game to the end of the calendar year.

You are seriously missing the issue here, so I'm done responding, I'm certainly not "beating" myself up mate. And there you go proving my point. Enjoy beating yourself up before you go to bed.

If you can't see that we do it at home on the nearest date possible, then I have no further words to add.
