Scope there for big embarrassment for the Government if the Don goes off on one.
If he is still in power or alive, I reckon he will kill himself trying to charge his phone in the bath one day.

You're aware for one of the richest countries in the world we're 34th in the highest average internet speeds right? That's it - my head has exploded and I need to not read anymore of this shit
Just please try and think this through.....
What the fuck do you mean with
"It depends if you believe in a private companies (in this case BT) ability to carry out the desire of the government to see fibre broadband nationwide....."?
BT/Openreach have been rolling out fibre across the UK for years as part of the EU/UK funding as part of contractual commitments - who else is going to do it if the government decide that Openreach are not up to it?
Also, they, Openreach, are so fully committed they have had to develop close relationships with sub-contractors from other EU countries. the demand for the services of such countries across Europe is so heavy that it is necessary to provide a long-term work programme to keep them committed
Openreach and their sub-contractors currently deliver against contracted service levels and delivery times - just how the fuck would your suggestion work - why would some government insourced company do better?
Why the fuck would nationalising Openreach lead to 'improvements'?
So many of the key staff could up and leave for better paid jobs in other countries
Just fucking daft this shit
What a silly statWell it’s popular...
"To what extent would you support or oppose a policy providing free broadband internet to all UK homes and businesses by 2030?"
Support: 62%
Oppose: 22%

We're absolutely miles behind the likes of Singapore and Sweden
What point are you making apart from some silly rant?
Staying in the EU would make your life easier for no cost ;) Admittedly it’s probably a pipe-dream now though, sadly.I also support lots of other pipe-dreams that would make my life easier for no cost
Trying to influence our election i seeThe Donald is coming back for a NATO party at Buckingham Palace 10 days before the GE. That'll please the PM.

What has your posts/proposals/Labour's policy got to do addressing that fact?
Labour's policy will make that position worse by removing competition in the market
Be honest - you actually don't understand the market do you?
At last - someone that has some sense on this subjectAs someone who generally leans towards the conservative side of government spending, I actually quite like this Labour policy. Broadband has become as important as other utilities and centralising it should improve connections in rural areas, that just don't make financial sense for private companies.
However, they've not pitched it right for me. This was the perfect opportunity to scrap HS2 and make the argument that improved home internet would make remote working more viable for more people, thus adding more to the economy and limiting the need for additional high speed transport into London.
As it is, I suspect it's just more Labour spending to be paid for by increasing taxes and borrowing.
Although I was really just pointing out the vagaries of share price movement and replying to a poster suggesting that nationalising Openreach might have implications for pensions and share holders, whilst the share price has been dropping for years without any Corbyn intervention, I’ll ask you a serious question. Is there a single answer to that question you’ve posed?Do you understand what drives share prices? [/B][/U][/I] Serious question. It would appear that you don't.

I hope that I never have to make a choiceI thought you'd died or run off with Ann Widdecombe!
Can anyone explain how Wales and Scotland have state-run water companies that don't need to make a profit? How come the staff don't move to jobs with English private monopoly water companies? What a silly stat
Who would not support the 'idea'?
I would
I also support lots of other pipe-dreams that would make my life easier for no cost
It's when I learn the 'real' costs that I come back down to earth and engage brain
Hmmm - for years I have been providing advice to the SG has they have battled to get through EU regulations mate with regard to their DSSB and R100 programmes. Not so.
EU has a permissive policy on how a state industry can be run I.e.if the government can show a private competitor cannot provide an adequate service.
Check it out mate.
So - who would be providing the delivery LenErr...bit like now..shit broadband to most of the country..private companies not capable of sorting it.
