Bring the Noise

Just go on YouTube .

Search for city v Chelsea vlog and im sure it'll be there.

Definitely 5.5 blocks stood up and looked intimidating actually, up to the colin bell stand. All stood all game. Should be so so noisy

thanks for posting the vlog, does look intimidating to be an away fan at our place.

hope our players and pep watch this, show them how to show appreciation to their fans at the end of a game after a long journey, win lose or draw must thank the fans not slope off down the tunnel.

Tomorrows CL game we have been given permission to use a megaphone. Like the drum it is 50 50 in support or not in support. A lot of fans have asked us to give it a try, so lets see if it can help in any way. It wont be over used, odd song only, to be positioned front 116. It cant be used by just any random fan or passed around, it has a cut off switch so offensive language can not be used.

That's great! Hopefully it improves the atmosphere and is accepted for more regular use. Great job

Don't know if it was you guys, but the flags and the MCFC OK banner looked great.
One question, are we not allowed have the flags up during the game?

Better idea than a wannabe Europop Ultras Cheese On Toast Percussion Section.

We have four blocks of standers in SSL1 and I think the sound struggles to travel sideways from 115 to the rest of our potential singers when the away fans right next to 115 are louder than 115.

So, while it’s still a bit cheesy, the megaphone might help those in the other blocks in SSL1 hear what’s being sung.

Glad you brought the subject up, what I would give to be able to have banners hung up behind the goal throughout the game, love em.

The MCFC OK is designed as a giant scarf, if you see any pictures of it and zoom in, you can actually see a woollen wove in the print to give the effect of a scarf( wish I knew how to load pics on BM but I am a dinosaur ). MCFC OK was for the song, its 35metres x 3metres and weighs a frigin ton. It was used first time Vs Basel in the CL, we have a great picture of it dropped down with all our other flags and the Basel fans letting off flares in their end. The banner is stored round the other side of the stadium near the tunnel so we have to drag it right round the stadium and up the stairs in to tier two ! Because of safety issues we have to lay it out in preparation an hour before KO. Me and another guy started to lay the banner out Saturday then realised the F*****ing thing was upside down ! That was a job itself turning it round.

We are only allowed to drop the banner just before players come out and then take it back up when the ref starts the game. We cant cover advertising boards hence all our banners are there for only a few minutes before the game, if this wasn't the case we would have loads of banners up there. Also sometimes odd fans put in a complaint that when we drop the banner it blocks some of the view of the pitch as it hangs down just a touch.

Once the banner is pulled up on KO we have to fold it and put it back in stores, after all that me and the other guy are knackered and cant sing for first 5 mins !

Banners can be hung from SS tier three as there are no advertising boards up there, we just don't have any contacts up there that will manage it game to game.

Glad you like it psychedelic, your session on it is 30 mins in to the game !

Like you say it is worth a try, we will give it a go just for CL games and not over use it. If it helps and fans don't mind it then it will get used for odd other games over the coming seasons. Its something to test at first.

Think it’d be nice to have some banners hung from level 3 think it’d look pretty good down on the pitch

it would look good.

It would need two fans per game from SS3 that would be good to come in the stadium an hour before KO to put them out, then at the end of the game hang around for 15 minutes to take them down.

That is for bigger banners that are 12m or so long. For small banners around 2m x 1m they can be arranged a bit easier with club

It wasn't great today bar the few people along with the guy with the drums who were doing all they could. Heard them pretty frequently through out the game,
Especially liked the part around 60 min when we had a flag up, drums going and a few people singing, something that given time would easily make our atmosphere one of the best in the Pl.

Not sure if the sound Carries that well around the group.

Could hear the last slightly South Stand Level 1 and the children's choir South Stand Level 3.

Only time there seemed to he any sound from the do called singing section was when the fight happened nearby

Who were the kids ‘choir’ that were singing “When the Blues go marching in”? They were the highlight for me tonight. :-)

My season ticket is block 317. It was a bloke getting all the kids joining in. In my tier there were a lot of school kids (clearly freebies) I am always singing and for me he did an amazing job getting them involved and the kids loved it. They even carried on singing after he left

He may have single handedly caught a few more blues.

Genuinely had no idea someone had a megaphone didn’t hear it once and I stand in 114 and there wasn’t exactly a lot of noise from the away fans to drown it out either.

Heard the drum though, I’ve said numerous times I’m very much in favour of a drum because our fans inability to keep to a tempo is absolutely abysmal! however, it needs to be somebody actually skilled with the drum and not just some guy smashing it vaguely to the song as it sounds an utter mess and only strengthens the naysayers points. And that’s not me having a go at anybody before it’s taken that way. completely understand it takes some balls to stand up and try it when you’re likely to see a backlash from a select few but it really needs to be somebody competent with it or not at all.
