‘On the table’ means the NHS is part of the discussions. As are food standards. What’s not on the table is any ‘climate change’ provisions. The US have said they will not be and cannot be any reference to climate change.

And therein lies the difference. We say the NHS is not up for discussion and it gets discussed. US say climate change isn’t up for discussion so it isn’t.

Negotiations with the US and the EU have their own dynamic. Both regard their market as prized assets that a third country will be eager to have preferential access to and for that preferential access there is a hefty price.

If you are to take Johnson at his word that the NHS and food standards are lines that cannot be crossed then there will be no meaningful trade deal with the US. If we are to take Johnson at his word about aligning with the EU then there will be no meaningful trade deal with the EU.

There will have to be a meaningful deal with one or the other so he is lying. The only question that remains is which one is he lying about.
Bullshit Bob. Hmmmm that has a nice ring to it. I should use it more often, there's plenty of opportunity.

I am not a Tory boy but I don't care where I get my chicken, I've been to the US and had no problems at all.

If chlorinated chicken were to pour into the UK then you will still have a choice of the usual chicken plus organic and more expensive chicken.

The argument about chlorinated chicken is just a proxy for different standards when it comes to animal treatment, conditions and slaughter. The US has lower standards which is why it has a higher incidence of food poisoning. Given our own experiences with BSE or battery conditions for chickens and the effect on U.K. egg production etc it is going to be a series of highly political battles between consumer and farming lobbies on a sector by sector basis.

It depends where you get your facts from, the reverse is believable if you select an opinion that suits a narrative you believe and want to support.

Then there's no problem in releasing it.
Logic flaw there fella. There could be all sorts of reasons why it's not released and if it is, only in redacted form. That doesn't mean it's some kind of smoking gun, merely that there are things in there which it's not in the public interest to be made public. We don't release secret documents about our spying activities, do we, but that doesn't mean we're all working for the Russians.

I am sure you can understand that if you put your mind to it.

I understand how supine you are.

No, it isn't Bob, it's simply your opinion from your extremely biased perspective. That is all.

The size of the US and EU economies is objective reality. That both will dictate terms is objective reality. That in nearly three years of negotiations on the WA the EU walked away with its key objectives, divorce bill, citizen rights, no land border in NI and secondary objectives, like GI’s, is objective reality.

Reality is a bitch

Gonna have a tener on Labour majority. Over 4 million people registered to vote in the last few weeks. In the last two days alone 660,000 young voters have registered!

Game changer. And that doesn’t include all the students that will vote twice and in whatever constituency they want!
