Well done on posting something that has nothing to do whatsoever with what I was on about :-)

And I watched QT and Tice (who is a complete arse by the way) stated that CT cuts had resulted in increased revenue. They have.

The point is ... that the overall tax take has not increased. So cuts to Corperation Tax are just a give away.

So why has Johnson scrapped the planned further cut in order to save £6bn?

It's a balancing act, as is every form of taxation.

Rates too low could mean that tax revenue will fall as Companies & individuals will pay less. Rates too high could mean that tax revenue will fall because they discourage growth & investment.

The latest student voting intention from ICM Research

Labour : 72%
Lib Dems : 10%
Conservative : 8%
SNP : 3%

Can you explain what that had to do with my original post?

Once again, Tice said that tax revenue from Corporation Tax increased as a result (partially, I will say that) of lower rates. That's a fact no matter how you try to twist it.

As per my other post though, lowering tax rates does not guarantee that tax revenue will increase. Neither does raising them for that matter

The lack of understanding from some on here of how taxation and business work is astonishing.

You would think people would do a little research before spouting shit.

So if you are a small/medium business owner under Labour you would see:

Your staff wage costs rise by between nearly £4 and £2 an hr across the board. Yes across the board, as if your 30yr old foreman gets say £11hr he/she isn't going to be happy when the 16yr old with no experience suddenly gets paid nearly as much. He/she will want and rightly expect to get paid significantly more.

A tax or the abolition of dividends.

Your corporation tax go up to between 2% and 7%. Assuming they can work out what the difference is between turnover and profit? As they didn't seem to know last week!

Your ability to hire staff on flexible contracts that suit your work requirements abolished. Full time or part time only guys.

A 32hr week in a few years, so another potential reduction in productivity of circa 20%.

You will have to pay staff for another 4 new bank holidays.

Have to cover maternity leave for an extra 3 months and cover extra paternity leave, which will increase from 2 to 4 weeks.

But don't worry, it's not all doom and gloom if you run a small business. Labour is going to put a know nothing small business adviser in your local post office and reduce your bills by circa £50 a month with free broadband!

No one in their right mind who runs or even works for a small or medium business would vote for this shower.

The policies above would result in mass unemployment and a big rise in inflation.

Vote Labour and you will get economic ruin for the many not the few!

That's simply untrue because it completely ignores the stimulus which rate cuts provide to businesses and the economy, and these effects take time to work themselves through. Also it ignores the Laffer curve effect whereby higher rates drive lower activity and tax receipts.

Were this not true why not just increase corporation tax to 100% so we can collect the maximum? The answer is obvious: We'd have fewer businesses and much less investment and therefore much less tax collected.

All bang on.

Said it a few times on here. I'll be several thousands pounds a year worse off and I'll earn about 25K per annum.

That being the case, where is the incentive to start, or even carry on running a small? business

Luvin Andrew Neill's take down of the chicken BoJo for failing to turn up for an interview with him.
Well worth a watch.
Also I understand the wimp has now backed out of an interview with ITV.
Running scared Der fiffel.

Didn't the Tories know that when they proposed the cut?

Economical circumstances change therefore the optimal level of taxation changes. It's really not difficult to understand is it?

Every time you post anything to do with business & economics you display a complete lack of understanding about the subjects.

What's worse though is that you don't actually want to learn about these subjects as the conclusions you may reach might differ from your blinkered viewpoint.

Hey Vic, what incentives do I have to vote Labour as a small business owner ? Please can you or anyone on here tell me. I can't seem to find any.

the problem with labour is they think either everyone works in the public sector or is a billionaire, so it’s difficult for them to comprehend its impact.

when they talk about workers it’s always hard working teachers and nurses.

if labour do get in we might all be working in the public sector by the time they have nationalised everything.

Answer.... no he can't.

But that doesn't matter, because to him business owners are all evil twats out to exploit the 'working class'.
