Post Match Thread - United (h)

Something is seriously wrong when sheff utd can score three against these, yet we fail to create many clear cut chances full stop.

I think that's more of a United problem of only playing against top 6 sides.

Possible us not lifting ourselves against mid table sides.

More wank from VAR,Shaw and Fred both penalties, and theres no way var gives City a penalty for the Bernardo one, wouldnt of got a glance
These decisions are the things that are riling fans and its boiled over today

You literally never stick up for us. That's why people will dismiss it. Rightly so

NO i dont make excuses when we lose...

Utd werent better than us but they were more effective at what they did....their football is basic but it attacked our single biggest weakness that everyone knows.

I’m sorry but that is plain wrong the players did care, the effort was fine but when 3 of your back 4 is rubbish and your best midfielder for a derby game is playing a role he isn’t used to the worst thing you can do is let yourself get battered on the counter. I love pep but he was shit today. A manager with an ideology who refuses to adjust to the situation he is forced into to.

We either have to invest heavily or think about letting a stubborn but brilliant guy go. We got beat by a shit team and not for the first time.

Which then brings you back to the way stitched up Roberto. One goes they all should. Or when a truly talented manager ask for the players , pricks like Pearce are told to leave.

This performance has been coming. We are too slow and some of our players have played too many games in recent years. It all needs freshening up in the summer and I hope Pep sticks around to do it. We urgently need a left back with pace and a commanding centre back to partner Laporte. Assuming Foden is good enough to replace David Silva we also need a fast ballwinner to play with him plus a striker. It's a big re-build. If we can win any trophy this season and finish top four I'll be happy. We all knew this was coming with Sergio, David, and Vinny finishing their stellar careers (not to mention Ya Ya) I think Rodri and Cancelo will both come good but that's just a start for a totally new team.

It's because our there is almost zero leadership, or team ethos that are weaknesses are such huge weaknesses.

The leadership thing is also a problem and an equally hard one to solve...there doesnt appear to be a natural charasmatic leader out there.....as strong as some of them are none have the strength of a Kompany

Let's call it as we can all clearly see it. The United pen was a clear pen. The Lindelof hand ball wasn't hand ball even though he handled it twice. The Fred and Shaw handballs were blatant (and successful) attempts to stop goal scoring opportunities and therefore stonewall pens.VAR are using this natural position rubbish to screw us over. It seems like many of our own fans are falling for it or simply don't understand the subtleties of the game.

Angelino is miles out of his depth, Zinchenko isn't a left back, mendy can't be relied on so ffs sort it out, otamendi and stones not good enough so ffs sort it out, aguero and merlin need replacing so ffs sort it out, this should be done gradually but we'll leave it till the last minute like we always seem to do

Interestingly Pep has larady menioned next season at least twice in the last week...something tells me that they know we aint got it this season for numerous reasons and they will be looking to address that....but its a mammouth task

Okay on my way back to S.Wales, was not going to post fully until tomorrow. Sorry but that is just not true. They were by far the better side and could have been out of sight first half. The difference, they had a defence. I really don’t give a shit what others think but Maguire was superb today and marshalled their defence. If we had Ferny in the midfield today they would not have walked through our midfield. At least the Otamendi versus Stones debate has been put to bed. Ota was excellent when he came on, Stones was shocking. Angelino is nowhere near a premier league left back but neither is Mendy. The Burnley result proved today by Spurs proved that Burnley are a very poor side. United are a poor side, but all they needed to do today was okay on the counter. Tactics today were piss poor as they have been for a number of games. The arrogance of thinking we can get away with a midfielder as a Center half is beyond belief. Especially when it weakens our midfield as well as our defence. They walked through our midfield which had no legs, yet Foden sits on the bench. Then as a final act of defiance we throw the ‘gutless’ Gundo on instead of Foden. Whilst I think Pep’s side over the last two seasons are the best side I have seen since 1974 in watching them, and appreciate everything he has done. But I don’t think it is just injuries that have done for us this season. Pep had to take some blame. Now we are at a crossroads. We need a major rebuild, so either Pep signs up for the longer term or we move on at the end of season. Obviously hoping he extends. In terms of support, it was shocking. I was up singing and trying to get behind the team, when other supporters were leaving on 70 minutes. Enough for today but that was tactically unacceptable today.
You are not hearing me,you are correct in everything you say,i am saying that all of that does not excuse the officials not doing their jobs correctly and honestly, after we scored we moved up a gear with the momentum, the earlier pen had it been given and it could have been a different result, things like that changes game,i repeat i agree with you but that does not give oliver the right to not make an honest decision,we have a lot of problems that need fixing, pep seems to go the quirky route instead of keeping it simple,i'm as frustrated as everyone

You've answered a different question than the one you quoted. Everyone knows we were not at the races today. That doesn't excuse the morons running VAR.
