I can hear the defence now. "When I liked the bit about 'Ein Reich' I of course liked the idea that the EU was like the Nazi party and being manipulated by Soros; I didn't realise that Soros was Jewish." And I look forward to the Chief Rabbi's view on whether asking of a journalist, “Being a bit zionist is her allegiance to UK or Israel?” is anti-semitic.

You heard "overthrow", "Capitalism" and "Venezuela", zoned out for the rest of it and then you were done!

Are you on some kind of weird, out of control wind up? If you don't accept what McDonnell repeatedly states first hand to be what he intends - that can be the only explanation.

What haven't we (ie those who take what he says himself as reliable) absorbed? Are you suggesting for example McDonnell does not see overthrowing capitalism as essentially a Venezuelan style socialist transformation? Just for starters - let's see if we can have a coherent discussion on that single topic.

To have a ‘Venzuelan style socialist transformation’ don’t you have to be in Venezuela? Why can’t we have a ‘British style socialist transformation’? Also when did nationalising railways (or whatever) automatically lead to South American style revolution? Most other European countries have state owned railways without instantly having its civilians forming a back drop to ‘Evita’. Come to think of it we do have a state owned railway system. It’s just that they are owned by every other European state other than our own.

Does he not caveat his his point about Venezuela with the amounts of corruption within the government after Chavez's tenure? And during his tenure education standards went up as Chavez put more into the system as well as healthcare. He did that using the wealth of one of the most oil rich countries in the world.

You're focusing on the corruption that happened afterwards.
