Most players, in our estimation, are just good, bad or indifferent. But some fall into a special category: they are heroes, villains, or legends.
We tend to attach the soubriquet of heroes to certain players when we are young. So my first hero was Bert Trautmann. As an eight year old, I worshipped him. But I was a teenager when my next hero arrived, King Colin.
Older and more cynical now, I tend not to elevate players into the hero category, tho' Kevin comes close.
Villains are of two types: those that we approve of, even tho' they might be a bit naughty: followed by the real villains that we abhor.
Tevez was undoubtedly a villain but we forgave him. Robinho, on the other hand, was a real villain who spent so much time telling us that he was going to be the best in the world, that he forgot to put in the work.
Legends, oh the legends. They should be quirky and not necessarily top players. How about Andy Morrison?
Others may be legends not only by dint of their personalities, but also for their actions. Kinky, Uwe Rosler, and, of course, Zabba.
Who are your heroes, villains and legends?

Dave Watson and Willie Donachie with a smattering of Mick Doyle were my legends back in the day, Watson and Jordan battling it out with Watson coming out on top most times, Donachie getting the ball from big Joe Corrigan and bombing it down the left maybe feeding Barnes etc. Doyle with his brashness and the weird thing of his sweatband on his arm standing out.

Andy Morrison is a legend for me, but probably hero for most. I fucking loved watching that fella pull us up by the bootstraps. Dickov, same. One iconic legendary moment that probably contributed more to where we are now than we could ever know.

Personal Hero: Dennis Tueart. His overhead kick at Wembley was a special moment to me...Wembley, City winning something, me being there and a kid. He was my favorite player at the time, as I loved the way he ran and celebrated goals, and when I met him during training at Maine Road, he was gracious enough to give me an autograph and have a picture taken, with me sitting on the dugout.

Personal Villain: Robbie Fowler. Thought he milked us, always seemed injured, and that pathetic penalty kick against Middlesbrough at home to put us in Europe during dark days was the icing on the cake.

Personal Legend: There are many to choose from in the last 10 years of glory, while there will always be a smattering of them throughout our history, not the least of which would have been the glory days of the late 60’s/early 70’s, but they always seem to be from a different time and place for different people...a time when City seemed to almost mean more than ever to you. So, for me, it has to be Sergio Aguero. I’m 56 years old, which means I barely remember the League win before Agueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeero. However, no matter what, that moment will always raise the hairs on my neck, always elicit and emotional response, and always bring back the sheer ecstasy of that moment. I was fortunate to be at the game and feeling like everyone else at full time. However, seeing that goal live, feeling the stadium explode (both emotionally and physically), and then seeing him wheel away swinging his shirt in the air as he came running down in front of us in the East Stand, is the stuff legends are made of. It was a moment that cannot be fully explained to another living soul, except possibly those that might have lived through it with you. And, from there, he has gone in to cement his status with a record goals haul, while working harder as he has aged and turning himself into the greatest ever forward to wear the shirt. They broke the mold when they made Franny Lee, but somewhere in Argentina, someone repaired it and made it even better, and sent him here. He may not have scored many decisive goals, other than that one, but every year he has outshone nearly all comers in the Premier League, while getting almost zero adulation outside the Etihad family. There are not many things in life that make thousands of grown men cry in unison, but the moment he gave us all that day was one of them. To me, he is a legend.

Hero as a young kid watching a young Peter Barnes bombing down the left flank was a pleasure.

Villains, Nicky Sumerbee utter c**t, never forgive him for giving the Kippax a two fingered salute and his terrible friendship with Kinzladze, a very bad influence.
Villain No2 Robert Hopkins, what an obnoxious c**t he was, fortunately we got rid very quickly.
Legends, Colin Bell, Mike Sumerbee, Dave Watson, Rosler, Silva, Kompany, Augero and Zabba.

Villains, Mick Horswill, Gerry Gow, Ben Thatcher, Tony Coleman.
Heroes, everyone in the spine of the team over the last 10 years, and all the regular players from 1968 - 1976.
Super heroes, Kompany, Doyle, Watson, Bell, Lee, Silva, KDB and Aguero, and all fans who kept the faith during 40 dark years.

Tommy Booth for me all day long .He supported the Blues as a kid and all his family were Blues .So down to earth it unbelievable .He still goes up down the country to various supporters events .Goes to all the home games and will stop and have a pint with fans all day long .So he my hero & legend. Villians to many to name
