I do wish you lot would stop naming the team you think will play.....I can't sleep as it is having nightmares and you lot aren't helping ! Youv'e got Jesus best we can do is The Pope ah well, what could possibly go wrong !!!!

Oh and to make things worse it will be our first experience of VAR,2nd Div.is a bit more physical than the Premier League, do you think you could declare at say 8 ?
City beat Rotherham 7-0 this time last year. They also beat Burton 9-0 shortly afterwards in the League Cup semi-final.

No doubt had VAR been in operation then, most of those goals would have been ruled out!

Carson

Sterling...........Aguero...........Foden

Garcia gets a rest and Stones comes in as a sub to get some minutes.

He just came back from injury ffs. Played one, scored one. Stupid fucking post

I wrote that Sergio is still a top striker. Scoring at home against an average team doesn't prove he is still among the very best in the world though. I hope I'm wrong, because we need him to win the CL. But....when was the last time Kun had a great game away from home? When was the last time he was great against a top side at their ground? Come up with examples, not with empty words and insults.

Vardy has been extremely clinical for a team that creates far less chances than us.

Lol, fair enough mate.
Although anything can happen, nobody can be taken for granted, I must confess, I've not watched your team for
donkey's years, it will be a good experience for sure.

Bravo
Walker
Otamendi
Garcia
Angelino
Gundogan
Merl
Zinchenko
Foden
Bernardo
Aguero

I'd rather save Stones for the Rags tbh and Bravo should be fine at this level to give Ed an extended rest. If Ed was 100% fine I'd play him.

Don’t worry about VAR it may well be your best bet for a result ;-)

I think they used VAR for the Burton game, no idea how all 9 counted.

You got any idea how many away league games Sergio has started for us this season? FOUR. Any idea how many goals he has scored in those FOUR GAMES? FOUR goals. And of those FOUR games, one was Liverpool away, not the easiest place to score, and one was Wolves away where he was tactically subbed after 10 minutes. So it’s not empty fucking words, and it is facts. As I said he has a better goals per minute ratio than Steptoe this season, and is required to do a lot more chasing back than Steptoe. The only things you could actually say Steptoe does better is stay fit, and play in a side where he is not rotated. Also I would add that Steptoe is a fine player himself, in his best ever form (in my opinion). So in FACT your prissy whinge about Sergio being on the decline are not facts at all. When you have something meaningful today, some facts, rather than empty words, come back, but until then STFU

i think City should be dominant, hardly a worldy prediction, but they might look to really ease off if they get into a comfortable position, lots of squad management at this time of year.

Bravo - Walker, Harwood-Bellis, Stones, Garcia, Angelino - Gundogan, D Silva, Doyle, Foden - Ageuro

Again, when was the last time Sergio had a great performance away from home? Can you answer this question? What about his last great performance in an away game against a top team? When was that?

We have lost the games in which Segio has started away from home (Norwich, Liverpool, Wolves) bar relegation fodder Bournemouth which was quite a difficult game too and we conceded many chances there. That's an interesting fact in itself. Scoring a pen for 4:0 against Wham and 1 from many chances against Norwich doesn't make for great performances. He has scored goals against Bournemouth (relegation zone), Norwich (worst team in the league) and a pen against Wham (in a relgation battle). All those goals came in the first weeks of the campaign and when Jesus was injured.

Has Sergio scored against a good team this season?

"He hasn't scored more because he has started only 4 games". But why hasn't Sergio started more games away from home? Is it because he hasn't been particularly good in away games and doesn't help the team as much as expected? Did he play well against Liverpool or rather was one of the reasons why we lost the game because of poor finishing?

The best strikers are great not only at home but also away from home. Sergio hasn't been that great in away games for a long time now. He was fairly shit against Spurs away in the CL. He wasn't impressive against the rags in April either. Very much hope he gets better because we need his class in the CL, but there is a reason why he starts almost all games at home and rarely away from home.

Vardy has been more clincial than Sergio. City create much more chances than Leicester, so Sergio having scored at a slightly better rate than Vardi in term of goals per minutes doesn't make him better or as good as Vardy this season. Only a deluded blue would think otherwise.

Will be interesting if City continue with 3 at the back. I doubt we will though. I think Harwood-Bellis and Garcia will start and Pep will want to make them as comfortable as possible by playing them in a back 4.

I think it will be great experience for the young players playing in a great atmosphere. This is going to be a very noisy game (for once).

You have to factor in that Sergio is playing against packed defences pretty much every game, whereas Vardy rarely has to. Obviously that will affect the quality of goal scoring chances. Both have done well this season but I'd prefer Sergio in our set-up, just as Vardy is more effective for the way Leicester play.

Having a bit more pace up front wouldn't harm our attack imo and would make teams think wice when trying to put us under pressure. You imagine that Kevin would feed Vardy with great passes in behind the CBs.

That said, Vardy and Aguero are incomparable wrt their careers. I said earlier in the thread that Sergio is arguably the best forward in PL history and inarguably the best in the big games. We need that form in the CL, against Real and hopefully later against Barca. Liverpool, PSG, etc.
