Ziegler (Times) wrote this for the weekend paper:

"Manchester City’s participation in next season’s Champions League appears secure because the investigations into their alleged breaches of the financial fair play rules are still some way off a conclusion.

The Times understands that Uefa’s club financial control body is due to meet next week to review a case that is focused on hacked documents — published by the German magazine Der Spiegel — which suggest that City’s Abu Dhabi owners inflated sponsorship deals with their own money in an attempt to circumvent strict FFP rules.

It is unlikely that any decision on possible sanctions will be reached next week, raising the possibility that any process that results in City’s expulsion from the Champions League will run beyond a point where Uefa can kick them…"

The hearing being this week is obviously fairly open knowledge.

Its shit or get off the pot time.
To extend any kind of investigation further is getting ridiculous. They have had since 2014 to discover any FURTHER discrepancies in breach of their fucking rules after sanctioning us for exactly that 6 years ago. Isn't the statute of limitation for breaches of financial law (the fucking law not a set of corrupt fucking rules) 6 years?
Now they are stretching it out beyond this so they can discuss the proberty of stolen evidence by an individual who is facing pokey for a very long time for being a thieving, conniving, blackmailing twat. If there was a smoking gun in all this Der Spiegel "evidence" we would have heard about it by now and they would have acted. Evidently there is not so a case based on hearsay and stolen emails with no context. Fuck Off UEFA!

Their own rules state 5 years which is why they were left with egg on their face in the case of PSG and why they rushed it up to the upper chamber in our case.

Interesting that Ziegler says hacked documents. He’s not exactly been positive on City in this process but the fast he acknowledges the documents were hacked is a surprise. Conn in his articles yesterday mentioned leaked documents.

He's the one who's posted about the Liverpool scouting thing as well. I don't recall the tone of what he's posted before about City, but other stuff of his I've seen has been okay.

It may just be that because the club are not giving them any rebuttal, articles are bound to be one-sided.

The UEFA meeting will be a shambles... the usual suspects will be demanding we are punished and banned despite their being no evidence to support such a sanction. I think it’s pretty obvious that the top brass at UEFA have tried and failed to do a deal with us so they will need to decide if they are prepared to hit the nuclear button now and face complete ruin. Shit is about to get real.

I think it's clear that the Times is now fully in the loop (it took them long enough) Ziegler is saying what most on this forum have known for over 12 months and something which has been widely reported elsewhere in the world. It is not possible for UEFA to take action against City based on information stolen by an international fraudster who has been charged with a huge blackmail plot involving tens of millions of hacked documents. Even if UEFA had the emails in their possession, which seems very unlikely, it would be a huge legal risk for them to take on City. UEFA would be staking everything on Der Spiegel (a magazine which is currently under investigation for publishing fake news) and material stolen by an international criminal. Even this is assuming that the emails are even accurate because City (who presumably do possess the emails) have said the allegations are false and out of context.

I am sick to death with the shit press/media in the this country. Why is it against the 'rules' for a business person to but a company and invest as much money as he wants to try and make it a success. These rules were only brought in after the City take over. I would have thought these rules were against some sort of freedom to trade as it reduces your chances of making your company successful. Sounds like forming a cartel a monopoly to protect the old business, which I thought wasnt allowed in business.

I dont understand finance and law as I am just a simply bloke but from the out side looking in it looks like the big 14 trying to stop new comers which I thought was against European trading law or something like that.

Their position is even more surprising when you look at the tax, company structure, pension arrangements, personal tax and other business arrangements of the owners of the media.

Four reasons the papers backed Brexit EU Anti Tax Avoidance Directive, Racism, Selling papers and avoiding blaming the Tories for our ills

Reasons the Tory party and its super rich donor supported Brexit, EU Anti Tax Avoidance Directive, Racism, avoiding blame and disaster capitalism

These rules possibly Break EU rules but their are vague exceptions for sport but they would defiantly break EU rules if we operated in a different sector.

For what it's worth I think UEFA will say all the new charges were dealt with in 2014 and drop the case. Hence the comments from Tebas earlier in the week and the raking over of old coals that the sports press pack will willingly roll out this week for their "old big club" masters.
Of course, I may be wrong and UEFA may want ALL their dirty laundry washing in the public domain, as some people and organisations are simply stupid and willingly rush for the cliff edge.

FFP Before 2014

Football | The Guardian

https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...accounting-sponsorships-uefa-champions-league

This just about sums up The Guardian writer:

"Uefa is understood to have asked specialist sponsorship consultants to consider whether the money being paid to City by the Abu Dhabi companies was “fair value”. The Etihad deal is thought not to have been considered too excessive."

He could have simply said, yes, the specialist sponsorship consultants advised that it was "fair value" but, instead, he wanted to get the words "too excessive" into his narrative hoping that the "not" beforehand, would be missed !

He`s going on about matters from 6-8 years ago. It`s not new. Just old news re-presented to make him appear relevant. He`s a charlatan who brought out his book very quickly on the back of City`s first Premier League title success in 2012 with Vinny on the front cover and then went for the headline - `Richer Than God`.

He`s another exploitative journo, though one with more between the ears than most of them, who has used his upbringing as a City `fan` and his law background to try and give credibility to his writing. Him, and the other writer who even used the Rags in the title of one his books to get attention, share similar characteristics. They are among the worst kind. who have put personal gains and their own self interest first on the back of the club they proclaim to support.

He should go forth to FCUM where he belongs. Sex and travel also to the Out of Towners Director planted in UEFA, FSG and their cohorts.

"The attempt to damage the club’s reputation is organised and clear.”

I half want UEFA to ban us from the CL for a season so we can have a ‘straightener’ with both them and the cartel clubs leading them by the nose. We really need to put this shit to bed once and for all.

It won’t be easy and it will get fucking ugly but enough’s enough.

When I read that article our losses are quite small compared to say the rags or RM etc. The fact that we are now debt free means our business plan works. So why arent the cartel put under pressure to reduce their debts.
This FFP is clearly geared to stop any new club coming up and that has to be against any law in any country ! .Citys 'crime' is investing heavy to produce a debt free business. It's that what happens in every takeover ?

It is basically equivalent to myself owning a shop on the high street, and having been there for umpteen years I have built a strong reputation. Then along you come and open up a shop 2 doors down and start selling fast

i get the hump and start lobbying the council to impose sanctions on you so that you cant put much of your sales revenue back into your own business to make you better and grow - just so i can protect my own business

Now tell me would that even get passed at the lowest level - would it fuck

FFP is nothing but a restriction on owners on clubs outside the established cartel

Just wondering if your last para is right but for slightly different reasons. Maybe after.their visit and shall we say partial disclosure of our evidence against individuals they returned and those with a lot to lose are now not wanting a fight.
So possibly a coalition of our worst enemies and relatively fair members against those still consumed by their own importance, hubris and arrogance.
Decisions, decisions, in the end uefa decide enough is enough and effectively decide they have had enough of the tail wagging the dog and charge us just to get rid of the stupid cliff jumpers.
Unlikely I know but it must be one hell of a meeting.

It is time to finally shake off the FFP monkey. City`s competitors are doing their utmost to ensure this desperately clings to our back with their undermining, orchestrated campaigns. Green eyed monsters are waiting in fear of their vested interests being exposed.

See the above thread. Lets expose them.

Meanwhile, the best way is to win `Big Ears`.

We will not win 'Big Ears' because we will not be allowed to, plus the fact we are simply not good enough this season either.

Our chance playing wise was at best last season
