It's mental as much as anything at this point, in my view. It's not about the state of pitches, light conditions, or anything else. SA are mentally shot. England are absolutely flying.

Probably because it would have been brain dead to even consider it.
big day for england and root, you have to back up the last couple of wins and we did look down and out today but that last wicket stand was the turning point, maybe we are see the rebirth of a good england side and the young players are starting to bed in and we still have archer to come in, this tour was a big big tour for root and england and he has started to look like a captain and england look like a team, the question now is can we be ruthless and kill them off with another innings defeat

Be over in first session tomorrow morning that’s 7 sessions 2 1/4 days. Those test points will come in handy
We’ll probably bat again if they don’t avoid the follow on as they will give Wood and Broad time to rest a bit and then make them chase about 500 in 5.5-6.5 sessions.

They reckon the weather is likely to improve a bit, with a chance of rain on each day, but less than had been forecast in the first two days.
Bat for 60-90 overs to get around 250 and stick them in again.
