Fulham (H) - FA Cup Round 4 Post-Match Thread

just like the other Spaniards who run the club - pep doesn’t understand our support. No connection with us

I haven’t been paid in six weeks now, so it’s very difficult to attend.

The sheer hypocrisy is his team, Barca, often play in a half empty stadium, sometimes a 3rd full against lower league cup opposition.

He seriously needs to shut his gob.

FFS stop defending fannying behaviour just because the player is wearing Blue. If that was any other player, we'd rightfully blast them
Yeh some studs down the Achilles is nothing at all. I’m so tough I’d be getting up laughing.

Thank fuck Pep has has given people something to get irate about otherwise this thread would be lucky to get to 15 pages.

Game was over after the first goal, and with the rotation policy we have there’s not much need to put in a performance to earn your place. little need or value in exerting unnecessary energy and so we saw an 80 minute professional training session. Little else to add as you can’t judge anybody on that, only thing worth mentioning is I’m liking Jesus’ developing habit of scoring headed goals. Job done onto the next round.

Just heard pep mentioning the crowd again. He has every right to mention the lack of atmosphere but not the turn out. I didn’t think 40k with essentially no away fans was that bad for such an early game both in terms of the kick off time and the round were in. Especially during a month that’s seen us play more games than at any point in the season and payment for the game being taken well in advance of payday after Christmas for majority. He himself has been saying we play too many games (for different reasons) but surely he recognises that not everybody can afford it

He never seemed to mention the crowd at Barca when they would regularly get 50-60k for routine league games

well Pep if you wish to pay for my son and me to attend every match I we will be happy to attend. We are coming upon Wednesday and going back on Thursday so I have lost 2 days pay, so couldnt afford to come up today by leaving home at around 5am and getting back about 11pm than again coming up on Wednesday. Us working class fans that have to spend 70% of our wages on paying rent we give up a lot to attend and as much as I love Pep that was out of order.

Did you also roll around slapping the floor and crying in agony?

That kind of reaction is reserved for when you actually do your Achilles - not a fucking scrape down it.

No one is saying it doesn't hurt but that was complete fanny behaviour and needs to be called out as such, regardless of the fact he's a Blue.
One of the times I did, perfectly happy to admit it, because it hurt so much I thought it was hanging on by a thread. I was out three months recovering.

This sort of player slagging is just beyond understanding for me. What point is there? What purpose does it serve?

He was asked a question and responded. What else would you like him to say FFS ?

Oh dear Pep.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been speaking to BBC Sport and it sounds as though he is not particularly impressed with the attendance at today's game.

The official crowd at the Etihad was announced as 39,223.

"It was not full. I don't know why," said Guardiola.

Speaking about Wedesday's Carabao Cup semi-final second leg with Manchester United, Guardiola added: "It gives a chance to go back to Wembley. Hopefully they will support us more."

Everyone isn't a multi millionaire Pep. People forget even if it's a tenner a ticket you have to then add the travel costs at the very least on top. It's a Sunday, every form of transport is reduced, early kick off and live on tv. Did he say the same when the Barcelona ground was half empty? Almost 40k is a good crowd, they want to get in the real world these football people.
Yep. I didn't bother today for many of those reasons. Soz Pep.

Guilt trip time. Oh, I'm back.

Anyone who slags off a crowd of 39k can fuck right off!

Final week into a 7 week pay month for many
1 O' Clock KO on a Sunday
Lower league opposition that bring a handful of fans

Haven't checked but I reckon 39k would be a record for the championship this season and probably the 4th or 5th highest premier league gate most weekends.

Definitely think BBC have done it on purpose btw

1) What was the question?

2) I'm only assuming here, but when Pep says he doesn't know why, I would think that's more his way of saying 'I don't want to comment as I don't know everyone's story' as opposed to 'how could they not want to come?'.

If I'm wrong I do apologise, if I'm right you've all been duped by the Beeb.

Didn't hear him whinge at playing in a half full Nou Camp for most of his tenure, he's such a rag sometimes, stfu and manage the team.

Did you, as presumably a Spanish speaker, read/listen to most of his post match interviews when he was Barca manager then?
Fair play if you did, and if he was asked about the empty seats there, and if he said different stuff.
