Bayern Munich believe Leroy Sané still wants to leave Manchester City, and that he will resist any attempts to renew his contract. Bayern remain ‘hopeful’ and ‘optimistic’, but are not stating a deal is ‘nailed on’. [@honigstein via @TheAthleticUK Transfer Daily Podcast]

Are Bayern breaking any rules by following one of our players so closely and making public statements about them?

Europe's Elite Clubs aren't concerned about rules as those rules are only applied to everyone else. FC Munchen have used their financial might and influence to bully their way through the Bundesliga for decades so tapping up one of Ours is nowt more than casting the net a bit further.

Our time is coming. They’re on the list.

Some fresh legs up top now, looking forward to seeing how he comes back as he is a pretty explosive option to have.

I think you need to drop your expectations quite considerably.

1st of all he probably won't play for a month. Laporte was training with the team that long before he returned.

2nd he's likely going to take 6 months to get back in form like Gundogan and Mendy have.

3rd he's unlikely to jeopardise his big money move to Bayern if he can help it. He's going to be thinking about his money first, then the euro's then City.

If we get 2 or 3 good games out of him, and he lets us rest people half a dozen times then we'll be doing well.
